Tobacco addiction has been troubling doctors around the world for many years.

The harm caused by tobacco products is obvious to every adult, but very few find the strength to get rid of this disgusting habit - not only to poison their own body, but also to harm the health of others .

Despite the fight against nicotine addiction, cigarette production continues to grow, and the number of smokers is steadily increasing.

To combat addiction, the best doctors are developing more and more new drugs that can help people who are addicted to nicotine.

These drugs have varying efficacy, and Desmoxan is considered one of the best.

Desmoxan is a smoking cure that helps to successfully get rid of nicotine addiction not only to “novice” smokers, but also to those who use cigarettes for many years.

The drug Desmoxan differs from other drugs for combating nicotine addiction by a specific principle of action.

While other therapeutic agents tend to cause an aversion to smoking at the physiological level, or contain small doses of nicotine (to reduce the body's need for this substance), Desmoxane acts directly on nicotine receptors .

It is allowed to smoke in the first days of taking the drug (gradually reducing the number of cigarettes consumed), until the need for nicotine products disappears completely. The country of origin of the drug is Desmoxan - Poland.

What is included in the medication?

The therapeutic product Desmoxan is available in the form of capsules with a dosage of 1.5 mg of the active substance.

The composition of the drug contains several components:

  1. cytisine - 1.5 mg;
  2. microcrystalline cellulose;
  3. magnesium stearate;
  4. corn starch;
  5. colloidal silica (anhydrous).

The capsule itself is made from titanium dioxide, gelatin and indigotine.

What is the pharmacological effect of the drug based on?

All means to combat nicotine addiction can be divided into four groups according to the principle of action:

  • nicotine substitutes (this includes Desmoxan);
  • medications that affect the central nervous system, suppressing sensitivity to nicotine;
  • medical products that form the smokers develop persistent disgust when trying to smoke a cigarette;
  • homeopathic substances.

The action of Desmoxan is based on the ability of the active substance cytisine to displace nicotine from the body with prolonged use.

Cytisine, acting on nicotinic receptors, “deceives” them, creating an effect similar to the use of tobacco products.

During the treatment course of Desmoxan, the body gradually weaned from nicotine-containing products. Due to this, a person seeking to quit smoking does not have unpleasant symptoms and anxiety associated with the abolition of the daily nicotine dose.

The standard course of treatment involves the use of one capsule once a day (preferably in the morning, drinking plenty of water). However, in the first days after the start of taking Desmoxan, 1 capsule is allowed every 2 hours (no more than six pieces per day).
