The human body cannot produce selenium itself. Selenium should therefore be ingested regularly and sufficiently through food. However, the supply with food is not always optimal in the case of an unbalanced diet.
In food, the trace element is bound to protein, which is why protein-rich foods such as meat, fish and hen's eggs are among the rich sources of selenium. Lentils, asparagus and nuts also contain selenium. Grain products made from white flour are usually quite low in selenium, since the nutrient-rich outer layers of the grain are often removed.

The tablets consist of 2 different layers due to a specially developed manufacturing process. Doppelherz's 2-phase system works according to the principle of "rapid nutrient release" and "long-term nutrient release".
The principle:
In the 2nd phase as a nutrient store, the selenium is gradually released over many hours and is thus continuously made available to the body in smaller "portions" throughout the day. In contrast, the selenium of the 1st phase is released more quickly and can be available to the body more quickly.
