Furagina Forte Apteo Med contains 100 mg of furazidine (furazidin) in each tablet. It is an active substance that, thanks to its ability to inhibit the growth of numerous pathogenic bacteria, is indicated in lower urinary tract infections.

Composition of furazidin, Furazidinum, Furagina Forte Apteo Med:

Active substance: furazidine (Furazidinum, furazidin). One tablet contains 100 mg of furazidine and the other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, silicified microcrystalline cellulose composed of: microcrystalline cellulose 98% and colloidal anhydrous silica 2%, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A).

The active substance of the drug is furazidine (furagine), which is a derivative of nitrofuran. Furagin has the ability to inhibit the growth of numerous bacteria that are responsible for urinary tract infections. Furagina Forte Apteo Med is indicated for the treatment of lower urinary tract infections.

Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against the effects of moisture and light. People who are taking other medications should inform their doctor. Do not drink alcohol while taking the drug. The possibility of using the drug in women during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be discussed with the doctor, but it is contraindicated to use the drug in the first trimester of pregnancy, during term pregnancy (from 38 weeks) and during delivery, because the drug may cause haemolytic anemia in the newborn, moreover special caution is advised during treatment in the third trimester of pregnancy. It is not recommended to use the drug during breastfeeding (furazidine passes into milk).

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug or other nitrofuran derivatives. Do not use in children and adolescents under 15 years of age. Do not use in the first trimester of pregnancy and during full-term pregnancy (from 38 weeks) and during delivery. Do not use in the case of peripheral polyneuropathy, e.g. diabetic. Do not use in the case of a deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. Do not use in the case of diagnosed renal failure (oliguria, anuria), when laboratory tests show creatinine clearance below 60 ml / min or elevated serum creatinine level.

Side effects of furazidin, Furazidinum, Furagina Forte Apteo Med:

Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. Nausea, headaches and excessive gas are most common. Discontinue use of the drug and contact your doctor if such symptoms occur: allergic reaction (rash, itching, hives, anaphylactic reactions (sudden local or systemic allergic reactions, including life-threatening anaphylactic shock), angioedema (severe allergic reaction - sudden swelling of the face, limbs or joints without itching or pain); swelling of the head and neck may cause difficulty in swallowing and breathing; severe skin reactions (exfoliative dermatitis, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome); acute, pseudomembranous enteritis; tingling, numbness, feeling of running currents as a result of peripheral neuropathy (damage to peripheral nerves), also acute or irreversible (mainly in the case of simultaneous occurrence of: renal failure, anemia, diabetes, electrolyte disturbance, vitamin B deficiency); liver dysfunction, symptoms of drug-induced hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice (caused by an obstruction in the drainage of bile), necrosis of the liver parenchyma. Other side effects: cyanosis due to methaemoglobinaemia (blue color of the skin with a chocolate-brown shade).

Dosage of Furagina Forte Apteo Med tablets, furazidin, Furazidinum:

Use as directed by your doctor or as directed on the leaflet. When taken orally, the tablet can be divided into two equal parts. Use with a meal, drink plenty of fluids. During treatment, you should follow a diet that is rich in protein. Adults, adolescents over 15 years of age: the recommended daily dose on the first days of treatment - 400 mg in divided doses (use one tablet every 6 hours), on the following days reduce the daily dose to 300 mg in divided doses (use one tablet every 8 hours) ). Usually, the drug is used for 7-8 days, if after this time the symptoms do not improve or worsen, contact your doctor.
