Levodropropizin is the active substance in Adrimax syrup. It has an antitussive effect, it also eliminates bronchospasm. It is a drug indicated for the symptomatic treatment of non-productive dry cough in children and adults.

Composition of Adrimax levodropropizine syrup:

Active ingredient: Levodropropizin (Levodropropizinum). 5 ml of syrup contains 30 mg of levodropropizine and excipients: citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, sucrose, raspberry flavor, purified water, nitrogen with low oxygen content. Raspberry flavor contains: flavoring agent, flavoring agent, natural flavoring agent, propylene glycol (E1520), ethanol.

Action of Adrimax levodropropizine syrup:

The indication for the use of the Adrimax levodropropizine syrup is a dry, non-productive cough. The drug can be used for various types of cough, incl. in the course of lung cancer, whooping cough, infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract. The active substance is levodropropizin. It has an antitussive effect and relieves bronchospasm.

Application:
Adrimax syrup indicated for the symptomatic treatment of dry cough (non-productive cough) of various origins, e.g. associated with upper and lower respiratory tract infections, in the course of whooping cough or lung cancer.

Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Before using the drug, it is recommended to consult a doctor, because the drug is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of dry cough and can only be taken while waiting for the diagnosis of the cause of the cough or waiting for the treatment effect of the disease that is the cause of the cough. Caution should be exercised in the elderly and people with severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance <35 ml / min.). Do not use in women who are planning to become pregnant. The drug contains sucrose (3 g in 5 ml of syrup) - the possibility of use in people with intolerance to certain sugars should be discussed with a doctor, this amount of sucrose should be taken into account by people with diabetes. The drug contains sodium - less than 1mmol (23mg) of sodium per 10ml of syrup, it can be considered "sodium free". The drug contains ethanol - less than 100mg for the maximum daily dose.

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use in the presence of abundant bronchial secretions (a condition characterized by a large production of mucus - phlegm). Do not use when there are disorders of the cilia of the bronchial epithelium characterized by a reduced ability to excrete mucus (Kartagener's syndrome, ciliary dyskinesia). Do not use in women during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. They are rare and usually not severe, most often disappear after discontinuation of the drug, but sometimes require specialized pharmacological treatment. If the following symptoms appear, discontinue use of the drug and seek medical attention: severe skin reactions (hives, itching) or skin diseases such as blistering (epidermolysis); uneven heartbeat (risk of arrhythmia); allergic and / or anaphylactic reaction - in the form of edema, shortness of breath, vomiting and diarrhea; dangerously low blood sugar which will make you pass out (hypoglycaemic coma). Very rare side effects - urticaria, erythema, rash, itching, skin reactions, severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face, lips, throat and throat (angioedema); stomach pain, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; allergic reactions, including immediate general malaise; dizziness, imbalance, tremors, tingling, numbness; palpitations, rapid heartbeat, low blood pressure; irritability, drowsiness, depersonalization (disturbance of the perception of oneself and the environment); shortness of breath, cough, swelling of the respiratory mucosa; deficiency or lack of strength (weakness) and weakness in the lower limbs. Other side effects: glossitis and aphthous stomatitis with fever; inflammation caused by a stoppage of the flow of bile from the liver (cholestatic hepatitis); cases of generalized swelling, fainting and weakness; seizures - a large epileptic seizure (clonic-tonic seizures) and a small epileptic seizure (non-convulsive, the so-called petit mal seizure); dilation of the pupils and loss of vision (in both cases the symptoms resolved after drug discontinuation); swelling of the eyelids, which most often can be considered angioedema considering the simultaneous occurrence of urticaria; somnolence, decreased muscle tone and vomiting in the newborn, which were attributed to levodropropizin entering the child's body taken by the breast-feeding mother (these symptoms appeared after breast-feeding and disappeared spontaneously after missing a few feedings (breastfeeding). Dosage of Adrimax levodropropizine syrup:

Use as directed by your doctor or as described on the leaflet. Do not use for more than 7 days without consulting a doctor. Children over 2 years of age: body weight 10-20 kg - recommended dose: 3 ml of syrup 3 times a day; body weight 20-30 kg - recommended dose: 5 ml 3 times a day. Adults: the recommended dose - 10 ml up to 3 times a day. Use the syrup orally, preferably between meals. Take with a break of at least 6 hours. Measure the preparation with the measuring cup attached to the package. Treatment should be continued until the cough ceases, if symptoms persist after 7 days of treatment, stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
