Indications for use of the Miconal gel are: foot fungal infections (interdigital mycosis, among others in athletes), lower legs, torso, nails caused by dermatophytes. Skin candidiasis caused by yeast infection.

 

MICONAL foot fungal infections Action:


Imidazole derivative with a wide range of antifungal activity. It inhibits the biosynthesis of ergosterol necessary for building the fungal cell membrane, which leads to changes in its permeability and functional disorders in the cell. It has a strong and fast fungistatic effect on dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, Microsporum types), yeast (Candida, Cryptococcus, Malassezia types), dimorphic fungi, some strains of Aspergillus spp. It also has antibacterial effect on Gram-positive cocci (streptococci) and streptococci action against Actinomycetes and some rats. Miconazole soothes the itching associated with fungal infections. Applied topically, it is very slightly absorbed by the skin.



MICONAL foot fungal infections indications:


Fungal infections of the feet (interdigital ringworm, among others in athletes), lower legs, torso, nails caused by dermatophytes. Skin candidiasis caused by yeast infection. Mottled dandruff. Mixed fungal and bacterial infections.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to miconazole or other ingredients.

Precautions:
The safety of miconazole in children has not been studied.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Use in pregnancy only when clearly needed.



MICONAL foot fungal infections Dosage:


In ringworm and skin candidiasis, a 1 mm layer of gel is applied to the lesions twice a day (morning and evening) - treatment usually lasts 2 weeks, and in ringworm 4-6 weeks. In dandruff, apply the gel once a day for 2 weeks. In onychomycosis, the cream is used under a closed dressing.
