The composition of Oktaseptal skin spray solution:

The active substances in 100g of the drug: 0.10g octenidine dihydrochloride, 2.00g phenoxyethanol and other substances: glycerol 85%, sodium D-gluconate, cocamidopropyl betaine 30%, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Oktaseptal action of the skin spray solution:

Oktaseptal in the form of a solution for the skin indicated for use in not very extensive wounds, it can be used repeatedly in short-term antiseptic treatment within the mucous membranes and adjacent tissues before diagnostic procedures, and also from minor surgery (also after their implementation), this applies among others gynecological, proctological, urological, dermatological, venereological, geriatric, obstetric and dental procedures. Oktaseptal contains two active substances: phenoxyethanol and octenidine dihydrochloride. Octenidine dihydrochloride acts on the surface of the wound and skin, while phenoxyethanol penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin and mucous membranes. The preparation works as a battery, fungus and virucide, additionally has a disinfecting and anesthetic effect, helps to cleanse the wound from dead tissues and secretions, stimulates the healing process. It starts to work already a minute after application, the action lasts for about an hour.

Application:
Oktaseptal skin spray for the solution indicated: in the antiseptic treatment of not very extensive wounds, as well as in the disinfection of the skin and mucous membranes; in the disinfection of the oral cavity (including for afters, irritations caused when wearing an orthodontic appliance or denture); in the treatment of minor burns and ulcerations; for the care of open wounds and post-mortem sutures; to be used before diagnostic examinations within the male and female genital organs as well as after the examination; during perinatal activities (eg crotch care after incision during delivery); before diagnostic procedures (as well as after surgeries) in the anus, before and after catheterisation of the urinary bladder, before activities related to artificial insemination in children (e.g. care of umbilical cord stump); in the treatment of antiseptics (time-limited) of interdigital fungal infection.

Additional information:
Keep the product out of reach of children at room temperature.

Contraindications:
Do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use for abdominal (eg intraoperatively) rinsing, bladder as well as eardrum.

Side effects: Adverse reactions
may occur during treatment (but not all). People who use the mouthwash may have a bitter aftertaste for one hour after application (it is not recommended to rinse the mouth with water or other liquid immediately after using the medicine). Side effects occurring rarely: burning sensation, redness, itching, feeling of warmth. Very rare side effects: contact allergic reactions, eg transient redness at the site of use. Side effects of unknown frequency: after rinsing deep wounds with a syringe, cases of persistent edema, erythema and tissue necrosis have been reported, with some cases requiring surgical intervention.

Dosage of the Oktaseptal aerosol:

The drug should be used as recommended on the leaflet or as directed by your doctor. Apply on the skin in an undiluted form. Disinfection of the skin and mucous membranes: flush with a sterile gauze moistened with the preparation. After careful distribution of the drug wait 1-5 minutes. The product can be sprayed directly onto the skin or mucous membranes (if the doctor advises), leave the preparation thoroughly for at least one minute after carefully spreading the preparation. Dental disinfection: rinse the mouth for 20 seconds using 20 ml of the preparation. Do not swallow the preparation. Treatment of minor burn wounds, treatment of wounds arising in the course of diseases such as atherosclerosis or diabetes: use the drug in the form of coils (sterile swabs impregnated with the drug). During the day, coves should be changed 1-2 times. Care of wounds and surgical stitches: soak the gauze with the preparation, flush the wound from the inside, aiming at the outside. Supportive in the treatment of skin mycoses (also foot-related to foot fungus): spray the drug directly on the skin in affected areas. Apply in the morning and evening for 14 days.
