- WHAT Telmisartan RATIOPHARM IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Telmisartan ratiopharm of medicines called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Angiotensin II is a substance produced in the body, which constricts blood vessels and thus increases blood pressure.Telmisartan ratiopharm that blocks the effect of angiotensin II, so the blood vessels relax, blood pressure decreases.

- BEFORE YOU TAKE Telmisartan RATIOPHARM
Telmisartan ratiopharm should not be used:
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to telmisartan or any other ingredients of Telmisartan ratiopharm tablets (for a list of excipients see. Section "Other information");
- if there is more than 3 months. pregnancy (early pregnancy Telmisartan ratiopharm is also better to avoid - see section. Pregnancy and breast-feeding);
- if you have severe liver problems, eg., Cholestasis or biliary obstruction (bile flow from the liver and gall bladder) or any other severe liver disease.

Take special care with
Tell your doctor if you have or ever had any of the following conditions or illnesses:
- Kidney disease or kidney transplant;
- Renal artery stenosis (one or both renal vasoconstriction);
- liver disease;
- heart problems;
- Raised aldosterone levels (water and salt retention in the body along with various mineral imbalance in the blood);
- Low blood pressure (hypotension), likely to occur due to dehydration (large loss of body water) or have salt deficiency due to diuretic therapy ( 'water-enhancing drug) consumption, dietary salt restriction, diarrhea or vomiting;
- Increased levels of potassium in the blood;
- diabetes.
If you think that you are (or might become) pregnant, you should tell your doctor. Early pregnancy Telmisartan ratiopharm is not recommended. If pregnant, you are more than three months Telmisartan-ratiopharm, as used in later stages of pregnancy, this medication can cause serious harm to your baby (see section. Pregnancy and breast-feeding).

Taking other medicines

Telmisartan ratiopharm, as with other blood pressure lowering medicines, the effect may be reduced when you take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (eg. Aspirin or ibuprofen) or corticosteroids.
Telmisartan ratiopharm can enhance other medicines to treat high blood pressure lowering effects.
Telmisartan ratiopharm with food and drink
Telmisartan ratiopharm may be taken with or without food.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding

If you think that you are (or might become) pregnant, you should tell your doctor. Driving and using machines

Important information about some of the ingredients of Telmisartan-ratiopharm
Telmisartan ratiopharm contains sorbitol. If your doctor has told you that you have intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
- HOW TO TAKE Telmisartan RATIOPHARM
Telmisartan ratiopharm always exactly as directed by your doctor. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The usual dose of Telmisartan ratiopharm is one tablet per day. Try every day to take a tablet at the same time.
Telmisartan ratiopharm can be taken with or without food. The tablets should be swallowed with water or other non-alcoholic drink. It is important Telmisartan ratiopharm drink every day until your doctor tells you otherwise. If you think that Telmisartan ratiopharm is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor arbavaistininku.
Treat high blood pressure. For most patients the usual Telmisartan ratiopharm daily dose to control blood pressure for 24 hours, there is one 40 mg tablet. If you forgot to take a tablet, do not worry. Take it as soon as you remember, and continue to take the medicine as normal. If the product misses a full day, the next day at the usual dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

- POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Telmisartan ratiopharm, like other medicines, can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The frequency of side effects may vary. It is described as follows:
- Very common (affects more than 1 user in 10);
- Common (affects 1 - 10 of 100);
- Uncommon (affects 1 - 10 of 1 000 users);
- Rare (affects 1 - 10 out of 10 000 users);
- Very rare (affects less than 1 in 10 000 users);
- Not known (can not be estimated from the available data).
Common side effects may include:
Low blood pressure (hypotension) in patients who are taking medicine for cardiovascular events reduction.
Uncommon side effects may include:
Upper respiratory tract infection (eg., Sore throat, sinuses, colds (upper respiratory catarrh)), urinary tract infection, red blood cell deficiency (anemia), high potassium levels in the blood, sad mood (depression), fainting ( syncope), difficulty falling asleep, feeling of spinning (vertigo), slow heart rate (bradycardia), low blood pressure (hypotension) in patients who are being treated for high blood pressure, dizziness on standing up (orthostatic hypotension), shortness of breath, abdominal pain, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort , bloating, vomiting, increased sweating, itching, drug rash, muscle pain (myalgia), back pain, muscle cramps, kidney impairment including acute renal failure, chest pain, weakness, and increased levels of creatinine.
Rare side effects may include:
low blood platelet count (thrombocytopenia), allergic reaction (eg., rash, itching, difficulty breathing, wheezing, swelling of the face or low blood pressure), anxiety, impaired vision, fast heart beat (tachycardia), upset stomach, dry mouth, abnormal liver activity, severe drug rash, redness of skin, rapid skin and mucosa (angioedema), eczema (a skin disorder), joint pain (arthralgia), pain in extremity, flu-like illness, uric acid, liver enzymes or creatine phosphokinase in the blood, hemoglobin (a blood protein) levels in the blood.
Side effects of unknown frequency may include:
a type of white blood cells (eosinophilia), severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic reaction), hives (urticaria), tendon pain, and sepsis * (blood poisoning ", is a severe infection with whole-body inflammatory response which can lead to death) .
* The long-term study involving more than 20 000 patients treated with telmisartan experienced sepsis than those not taking it. This phenomenon could be casual or dependent on as yet unknown mechanisms.

Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Telmisartan ratiopharm composition
- The active substance is telmisartan.
Each tablet contains telmisartan 40 mg or 80 mg of telmisartan.
- The other ingredients are mannitol, meglumine, sorbitol (E420), povidone (K-90), sodium hydroxide, hypromellose, magnesium stearate.
Telmisartan ratiopharm looks like and contents of the pack
Telmisartan ratiopharm 40 mg and 80 mg tablets are white to off-white, oblong shape with a score line on one side. The tablet can be divided into two equal parts.
The carton contains 7, 10, 14, 20, 28, 30, 50, 56, 60, 84, 90, 98 or 100 tablets in blisters.
HDPE bottle with a white cap PP:
Packaging 100 tablets and 500 tablets (for hospital).
