WHAT KETOZOLINE 2% IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Action :
Ketozoline 2% belongs to the group of medicines used to treat skin diseases caused by
fungal infections (antifungal). Ketozoline 2% is active against a broad spectrum
of fungi, including yeasts. The effect is based on a change in the cell membranes of the
fungus. Ketozolin 2% acts superficially (topically) in the top layer of skin and does not enter the body.

Use:
Ketozoline 2% is used in adults and adolescents to treat and prevent the following types
of fungal skin diseases:

• Dandruff on the scalp (seborrheic dermatitis)
  
• scaly brownish patches on the skin (pityriasis versicolor).
  

Your doctor may have prescribed a different application for you. Please follow the instructions of your
doctor.

HOW TO USE KETOZOLINE 2%?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or
as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist
if you are not sure.

This medicine may only be used externally!

The recommended KETOZOLIN 2% Ketoconazole shampoo dose is:

Adults and adolescents:
scaly brownish patches on the skin (pityriasis versicolor)
Treatment: once a day for a maximum of five days.

Prevention: once a day for a maximum of three days before summer time. Dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis)

treatment: twice a week at intervals of 3 - 4 days for two to four weeks.

Prevention: once a week or every two weeks for three to six months.

The affected areas are washed with the shampoo. After three to five
minutes, rinse out the shampoo. Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Individual needs are different.
The treatment may only be changed or stopped on medical advice.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Ketozoline 2% is too strong or too weak.

If you use more Ketozolin 2% than you should
Ketozolin 2% should not be taken.

If you accidentally take Ketozolin 2%, please contact your doctor, emergency room or pharmacy.
To avoid aspiration, vomiting should not be induced.

If you forget to use Ketozoline 2%
Continue treatment as directed by your doctor. If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The active substance is ketoconazole.

1 g shampoo contains 20 mg ketoconazole (2%).
