The Olfen patch is a medicinal product for use in the treatment of pain associated with sudden strain, sprain or contusion caused by blunt trauma to the legs and arms. The active substance is diclofenac sodium.
Composition of Olfen Patch patches, lower back pain treatment at home:
Active substance: diclofenac sodium (Diclofenacum natricum). One patch contains 140 mg of diclofenac sodium and the following excipients: macrogol lauryl ether (9EO), diisopropyl adipate, glycerol, propylene glycol, liquid crystallizing sorbitol (E 420), sodium polyacrylate, sodium carmellose, butyl methacrylate, basic copolymer, light colloidal anhydrous silica natural, sodium sulphite anhydrous (E 221), disodium edetate, butylhydroxytoluene (E 321), aluminum potassium sulphate, tartaric acid, levomenthol, purified water, polyester backing layer (EL-8100S), polypropylene protective film.

The Olfen patch patches are a pain reliever. The active substance of the drug is diclofenac, which belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The patches relieve pain associated with sudden strains, bruises and sprains in the area of the legs and arms, which resulted from blunt trauma. A drug for short-term use in adults and adolescents over 16 years of age.
Application:
Olfen Patch patches indicated for short-term use in the treatment of pain caused by contusion, sprain, strain in a limb resulting from blunt trauma. For use over 16 years of age.

Store the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Store in the original package. After opening the package, use within 4 months. Please note that the elderly are more likely to experience side effects. The drug contains propylene glycol, which is an ingredient that may irritate the skin. The drug contains butylated hydroxytoluene, a component that may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis) or irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes. Caution should be exercised in people with impaired kidney, liver and heart function. The possibility of using the drug in people with asthma (now or in the past) or allergies, as well as prone to gastrointestinal ulceration, enteritis or bleeding should be discussed with your doctor. If a rash occurs, stop taking the drug and contact your doctor. Do not use on mucous membranes and around the eyes. Avoid contact of the preparation with the eyes and mucous membranes. Do not use while bathing. The area treated with the plaster should be protected against UV rays (sun, solarium). Do not use simultaneously with topical or systemic drugs containing diclofenac or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: the possibility of using the drug in the first and second trimester and during breastfeeding should be discussed with your doctor (nursing mothers should not use patches in the area of the breast). The drug is contraindicated for use in the last trimester of pregnancy. It is not recommended for women, who are planning to become pregnant or who have problems conceiving. Use in children and adolescents: not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 16 years of age. For external use only. Do not swallow.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug (including diclofenac, propylene glycol, butylhydroxytoluene). Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Do not use in the case of asthma, skin swelling, swelling, irritation inside the nose after the use of acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Do not use in active gastric / duodenal ulcer disease. Do not use in the case of open skin lesions (cuts, abrasions, burns), do not use on wounds, skin infections, eczema. Do not use in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. Common: injection site reactions, rash, eczema, redness, dermatitis, skin swelling, itching, burning sensation; uncommon: generalized skin rash, allergic reactions (e.g. hives), photosensitivity, swelling of the skin and mucous membranes, anaphylactic reactions; rare: skin blisters, dry skin; very rare: rash pustular, rash with ulcerations, severe eczema, asthma attack; Not known: application site hematoma.
Dosage of the Olfen Patch, lower back pain treatment at home:
Use as directed by your doctor or as indicated on the leaflet. Apply the patch on the sore spot, on the intact and unchanged skin. Adolescents over 16, adults: use one patch twice a day - morning and evening. Use only on one sore spot at the same time. Do not use more than two patches a day. If symptoms persist or worsen after 3 days of treatment, a doctor should be consulted.
