5-HTP 100mg GPH 5-hydroxytryptophan Capsules
The seeds of the African black bean, Griffonia simplicifolia, contain significant amounts of a substance that is also important for humans — 5-hydroxytryptophan, also known as 5-HTP.
5-HTP plays an essential role in the production of serotonin, which is also called the "happiness hormone", and is formed in the human body from L-tryptophan, an essential amino acid. Essential means that the amino acid cannot be produced by the body itself, but must be supplied with food.
At the blood-brain barrier, however, L-tryptophan competes with other amino acids (tyrosine, phenylalanine, valine, leucine, isoleucine) for their common transporter, which limits the supply of 5-HTP and thus serotonin production.
5-HTP can pass the blood-brain barrier without restrictions and is therefore available in sufficient quantities for serotonin synthesis.
Serotonin, also known as the happiness hormone, is an endogenous hormone.
It affects mood, the sleep-wake cycle, appetite (high serotonin levels decrease appetite) and the perception of pain.
Especially with depressive moods and migraines, a reduced serotonin level can often be observed.
Magnesium is an essential mineral and is necessary for a variety of biochemical functions. As an important activator, it is involved in over 300 metabolic processes in the human body. Magnesium plays a crucial role in energy metabolism, nerve function and muscle function (muscle relaxation). A lack of magnesium can manifest itself, among other things, in the form of depressive moods, inner restlessness, dizziness, lack of concentration, migraines and irritability.
5-HTP 50 mg GPH Capsules are a dietetic food for special medical purposes in the treatment of depression. 5-HTP serves as a precursor to serotonin production and counteracts depressive moods. It also has a positive effect on migraines and sleep disorders. The combination with magnesium supports the mood-enhancing effect.
