Active ingredient: cetirizine dihydrochloride.
Tablets: Children over 6 Adolescents and adults: To treat symptoms of allerg. Diseases such as chronic nettle rash (urticaria) (with e.g. itching, wheal formation, reddening of the skin); chron. allergic Sniffles; itching in urticaria and atopic dermatitis (neurodermatitis); hay fever (with e.g. sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, nasal congestion, redness or itching of the eyes and tearing); to support asthmatic conditions of allergy origin.
Contains lactose.

Cetirizin Aristo ®for allergies is an over-the-counter antiallergic drug with the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride. It is used in children over 6 years of age and adults to relieve nasal and ocular symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic conditions such as allergic rhinitis and hives (urticaria).
What ingredients does the antiallergic contain?
Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg of the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride. Cetirizine dihydrochloride prevents the messenger substance histamine, which is responsible for the allergic symptoms, from connecting with the receptors and developing its effect. These active ingredients are called antihistamines and are suitable for treating acute symptoms.
Other components are:
• microcrystalline cellulose
• hypromellose
• lactose monohydrate
• macrogol 4,000
• magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.) [vegetable]
• colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide
• titanium dioxide (E 171)
One tablet corresponds to less than 0.01 BE.
This medicine contains lactose.
When should cetirizine dihydrochloride Cetirizin Aristo ® not be used for allergies?
Cetirizin Aristo ® for allergies must not be taken if you are allergic to the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride or any of the other ingredients or to hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives; in severe kidney disease.
How is cetirizine dihydrochloride Cetirizine Aristo® taken for allergies?
cetirizine dihydrochloride Cetirizin Aristo ® for allergies is an over-the-counter antiallergic. Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Swallow the film-coated tablets whole with liquid, preferably in the evening. Cetirizin Aristo ® can be taken independently of meals.
Unless otherwise prescribed, the recommended dose is:
• Adolescents from 12 years of age and adults: 1 film-coated tablet of Cetirizin Aristo ® (10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride) daily, preferably in the evening
• Children and adolescents from 6-12 years of age: take the dosage adjusted to their body weight:
- body weight less than 30 kg ½ film-coated tablet daily in the evening
- body weight more than 30 kg 1 film-coated tablet daily in the evening. A distribution to 2 single doses (½ film-coated tablet in the morning and evening) is possible in individual cases.
• Renal insufficiency: The recommended dose should be halved in patients with renal insufficiency.
Duration of application of Cetirizin Aristo ®
The duration of treatment depends on the type, duration and progression of the symptoms and will
determined by the doctor. In the case of hay fever, 3-6 weeks is generally sufficient - in the case of short-term pollen exposure only 1 week. There is experience of up to 6 months in the supportive treatment of asthmatic conditions of allergic origin. In chronic urticaria and chronic allergic rhinitis there is up to 1 year of experience with the use of Cetirizin Aristo ® .
