Loratadin STADA is an antihistamine for adults and children from 2 years of age for the treatment of symptoms associated with certain allergic diseases that are associated with increased histamine release. Histamine serves as a messenger substance in inflammatory and allergic processes. When there is inflammation, the release of histamine ensures that blood vessels expand and the tissue swells.
The active ingredient loratadine prevents the histamine from developing its effect in the body and thus alleviates symptoms such as swollen nasal mucosa in hay fever or hives of unknown cause (chronic idiopathic urticaria).
