What Tavegil® solution for injection is and what it is used for
Tavegil injection solution is an antiallergic agent for intravenous use in allergic diseases and itching.


Field of application For premedication, possibly also in combination with an H2 receptor antagonist to avoid histamine-related clinical reactions before the administration of radiological contrast media.

In medical practice, Tavegil® solution for injection is also used for the short-term acute treatment of severe allergic diseases.

How should Tavegil® solution for injection be used?
Always use Tavegil® solution for injection exactly as directed in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
Adults:
1 ampoule iv; slow administration under control of the heart rate.

Children from 1 year.
0.03 mg / kg body weight iv; slow administration under control of the heart rate.

As a rule, a single dose is sufficient.

If an H1 receptor antagonist is also used for the prophylaxis of allergic reactions prior to the administration of radiological contrast media (no mixed syringe), the instructions for use of the medicinal product concerned must be observed.

TAVEGIL Method of administration
For Intravenous injection.

The intravenous injection should be done slowly (duration of injection approx. 2 minutes).

If an H2 receptor antagonist is also used (not a mixed syringe), the instructions for use of the pharmaceutical company concerned must be observed.

Tavegil® solution for injection must not be administered intra-arterially.
