The method of using Feliway® depends on the problem we are dealing with. Below are details on how to use Feliway® to help your cat cope with difficult situations or showing signs of stress.

Feliway® has been proven to help reduce stress-related behavioral problems such as injecting. Clinical studies have shown a reduction in urine injections of up to 91% of cases.
To reduce or prevent urine marking, avoid cleaning the injected areas with products containing ammonia or bleach, as cats are extremely sensitive to strong odors. It is best to use water, medical spirit or odorless solutions to wash contaminated places.
Feliway® Diffuser should be turned on in the room where the cat is marking its territory. If your cat marks several rooms, you may need to turn on another diffuser in one of the other rooms. The diffuser should be left on continuously for at least 4 weeks. If used for a long time, replace the cartridge.
Feliway® Spray can be used simultaneously with the diffuser to spray the marked areas. In this case, clean the injected area and let it dry. Then spray this area and the nearest conspicuous objects every day. Spraying the area can be finished when the cat leaves its cheek pheromones on it (rubbing its face against it)

Marking by scratching in a vertical position

Feliway® has been proven to help reduce stress-related behavioral problems such as scratching. Clinical studies have shown a reduction in scratch marking of up to 96% of cases.
Spray the scratched surfaces with 6 sprays (presses) of Feliway® Spray once a day. Use for at least a month. Spraying the area can be finished when the cat leaves its cheek pheromones on it (by rubbing its face against it). It is very important to place an alternative scratching object nearby.

Several cats in the house

To reduce stress in multi-cat homes, turn on the Feliway® Diffuser in the room where your cat(s) is showing signs of stress and discomfort. The diffuser should be left on continuously for at least 4 weeks. If used for a longer period of time, the cartridge should be replaced. Make sure that each cat has its own place to sleep and eat, the possibility of uninterrupted use of the litter box, and a safe place to hide.

Changes in the cat's environment (renovation, guests, new animals, birth of a child)

The diffuser should be turned on in the room where the cat(s) are showing signs of stress and discomfort. Leave it on for four weeks or until the problem stops. If used for a longer period of time, the insert should be replaced.

Assistance in adapting the cat to a new environment (after moving, during the socialization period of kittens, after adoption)

Transport or leave in a pet hotel

Spray Feliway® Spray directly on the inside of the carrier or cage, 15 minutes before putting the cat in (one press on each of the four corners, two presses on the floor and two on the ceiling). Repeat before each trip or every day during your cat's stay at the hotel. If Feliway® Spray is used in a hotel, always wait 15 minutes before allowing your cat back into the room.

During fireworks season

Cats should not be allowed outside during fireworks season. However, this can cause additional stress, especially in homes with several cats. Turn on the Feliway® Diffuser in the room where the cat(s) is resting or hiding. Feliway® should be left on continuously for four weeks or as long as the situation requires. If used for a longer period of time, the cartridge should be replaced.
