Feed analyzes of various commercial complete dog foods showed strikingly low L-carnitine levels compared to pure meat feed. The carnitine content of these finished feeds was more than 10 times lower than that of pure meat. In fact, L-carnitine is more poorly absorbed by the dog's kidneys than by non-carnivorous animals. A higher excretion of vital L-carnitine in domestic animals can therefore lead to a threatening deficiency compared to wild animals. For this reason, HERZ-VITAL from Canina is urgently recommended, regardless of what you are feeding. It is recommended to seek advice from our vet before feeding or extending the feeding time.
