What should you consider?
- The ability to react can also be impaired when used as intended, especially in higher doses or in combination with alcohol. Be particularly careful when driving or using machines (including household ones) that could injure you.
- Beware of allergies to spices, essential oils and turpentine oil!
- Beware of allergies to cinnamon, birch, poplar buds, propolis, valerian, turmeric and rosin!
- Be careful if you are allergic to St. John's wort and hawthorn!
- Be careful if you are allergic to parabens, e.g. preservatives (E number E 214 - E 219) or as plant ingredients!
- Be careful if you are allergic to phenol (e.g. pyrogallol, triclosan and vanillin)!
- Be careful if you are allergic to ascorbic acid (vitamin C)!
- Be careful if you are allergic to Arabic gum (E number E 414)!
- Be careful if you are allergic to talc!
- Beware of allergies to peanuts, soy and legumes, possibly also to lupines (as flour in ready-made dough for pizza and rolls)!

  • The preparation is a herbal medicine for sedation.
  • The medicine is used for:
    • nervous sleep disorders
  • If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 4 weeks, contact your doctor.

  • Always take this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • The recommended dose is
    • for adults and adolescents over 12 years:
      • For the treatment of sleep disorders caused by nervousness, one coated tablet 1/2 to 1 hour before bedtime. If necessary, you can take an additional coated tablet earlier in the evening.
      • The single dose corresponds to 50 to 75% of 2 to 3 g of valerian root and 50 to 75% of 0.5 g of hop cones.

 

  • duration of use
    • In principle, the duration of use is not limited. If the symptoms persist for more than 4 weeks or if they worsen, you should consult a doctor.
  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

  • If you take more than you should
    • If you accidentally take twice or three times the intended dose (equivalent to 2 or 3 coated tablets of this medicine), this usually has no adverse consequences. In this case, continue taking it as described or as directed by your doctor. If you have significantly overdosed this medicine, you should consult a doctor.
    • Taking more than 20 g of valerian root (equivalent to about 18 coated tablets) caused the following symptoms: tiredness, abdominal cramps, tightness in the chest, feeling of emptiness in the head, trembling of the hands and dilation of the pupils, which disappeared again after 24 hours. If symptoms occur, appropriate treatment should be given.

 

  • If you forget to take a dose:
    • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

 

  • If you stop taking it
    • The intake can be interrupted or ended at any time

  • Swallow the coated tablets whole after meals with plenty of liquid (preferably a glass of water).
  • Do not take the medicine lying down.

  • If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This also applies to side effects that are not specified.

  • Taking with other medicines
    • There is limited data on drug interactions. Clinically relevant interactions have not been observed to date. Because an increase in the effect cannot be ruled out if other sedatives are taken at the same time, they may only be taken at the same time on medical advice and under medical supervision. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using, have recently taken/used or might take/use any other medicines.
  • Take with food, drink and alcohol
    • Avoid drinking alcohol while using this medicine.

Contraindications

  • The drug must not be taken
    • if you are allergic to valerian root dry extract or hop cone dry extract or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

  • Safety during pregnancy and lactation has not been adequately studied. The drug is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

    • Children and young people under the age of 12
      • There are no adequate studies on use in children. It is therefore not recommended for children and adolescents under the age of 12 to take it.

 

  • Ability to drive and use machines
    • The use of the preparation up to 2 hours before actively participating in road traffic, operating machines or working without a secure footing is not recommended, since the ability to react can be impaired even when used as intended. This applies to a greater extent in combination with alcohol.
