Momordica charantia, or bitter melon, is a plant characteristic of Asia, especially its tropical and subtropical parts. Its shape resembles a cucumber, hence the Polish name of this unusual plant is "cucumber". Due to its bitter taste, it is not a plant that is eagerly eaten raw. However, in traditional Ayurvedic medicine, bitter melon is valued for its health-promoting properties.
