Simeticone or (simethicone) is a type of medicine called an antiflatulent. It is used to treat wind (flatulence). It is a mixture of silica gel and dimeticone (or dimethicone, a type of silicone) and is known as "activated dimeticone". It can help with trapped wind and bloating as well as colic in babies.

- The drug is a defoamer.

The preparation is used:
- for diagnostic preparation in the abdominal area (removal of foam accumulations), e.g. B. in an esophagoscopy, gastroscopy, duodenoscopy, jejuno-ileoscopy, rectoscopy, sigmoidscopy, colonoscopy;
- for double-contrast imaging of the stomach or double-contrast imaging of the large intestine
ENDO PARACTOL Simethicone (Simeticone) Emulsion dosage
- Always take the medicine exactly as directed. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, is the usual dose
- 10 ml of the preparation (equivalent to 52.6 mg simethicone) before or during the endoscopy. If necessary, the dose can be increased.

For double-contrast imaging of the stomach:
- 10 ml of the preparation (equivalent to 52.6 mg simethicone) to 150-250 ml contrast pulp.

For double-contrast imaging of the colon:
- 20 ml of the preparation (equivalent to 105.2 mg simethicone) to 1000-1500 ml contrast pulp.
- The enclosed measuring cup is to be used for the precise dosing of the medicine.
- The preparation can be given undiluted or in a diluted ratio with water through the biopsy channel of the endoscope, or taken by the patient.
- The medicinal product should be shaken vigorously before administration, both in the concentrated form and after dilution.
- Lukewarm water is recommended for cleaning the biopsy channel of the endoscope.
- Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.

If you take more of the medicine than you should
- The active ingredient of the preparation causes the foam in the gastrointestinal tract to dissolve in a purely physical way and is chemically and biologically completely ineffective. Therefore, poisoning is practically impossible.
