Action Lactulosum Takeda Forte syrup:
The active substance of Lactulosum Takeda Forte is lactulose. It is a synthetic disaccharide which, when administered orally, does not decompose with the participation of digestive enzymes, and is also not properly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. However, in the large intestine in contact with bacteria decomposes to organic acids, especially lactic acid, thanks to which it acidifies the contents of the large intestine. The products of lactulose degradation increase the volume of the contents of the intestine, stimulate peristalsis and have a laxative effect. In addition, lactulose reduces the concentration of ammonia in the blood in patients with encephalopathy.
