Active substance: medicinal charcoal (Carbo medicinalis). One capsule contains 200 mg of medicinal charcoal and auxiliary substances: gelatin, titanium dioxide (E171), black iron oxide (E172).

The plant-based agent, medicinal carbon, has a strong adsorption effect. It binds toxic and irritating substances in the digestive tract, which prevents their absorption. The drug is indicated for both adults and children.
Application:
The medicinal product Norit Medicinal Carbon 200mg is indicated for use in enteritis, diarrhea, flatulence and excessive intestinal fermentation (e.g. during dietary changes), and also after consultation with a doctor as a supporting treatment in poisoning with toxic substances (except for poisoning with cyanide, strong acids and bases).
Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect from moisture and light. The drug should not be used with other drugs, as it may weaken their effect. The drug may stain the stool dark or black. If diarrhea persists for more than 3 days despite treatment, consult a doctor to conduct additional clinical and biochemical tests to determine the causes of the disease. In case of acute poisoning, other necessary drugs should be administered parenterally. If it is necessary to induce vomiting, it should be induced before administering the drug. Use charcoal 30-60 minutes after vomiting has stopped. Charcoal should not be used if it is necessary to administer another specific antidote, e.g. methionine orally. Caution should be exercised in the case of poisoning with agents affecting intestinal peristalsis (e.g. opioids), due to the risk of water and electrolyte metabolism disorders, laxatives should be used cautiously and only occasionally during treatment with charcoal. The drug is not very effective in poisoning with, among others, boric acid, ferrous sulfate and other metal compounds, DDT, cyanides, lithium, methanol, ethanol, ethylene glycol, petroleum refining products and mineral acids and bases. People using the drug for 7 days for flatulence or 2 days for diarrhea should consult a doctor if symptoms persist despite treatment. You should contact your doctor if you experience fever or blood in your stool with diarrhea. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: it is recommended to consult a doctor or pharmacist before using the drug.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the drug. Do not use in case of stomach upset, suspected intestinal obstruction, acute abdominal pain, ulcerative colitis (part of the large intestine). Do not use in unconscious people whose airways have not been secured.
Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. Rare: constipation (this can be prevented by taking drugs that stimulate intestinal peristalsis). Gastrointestinal disorders, vomiting especially in children, cases of aspiration of the drug into the lungs. The drug stains the stool black.
Dosage of Norit Medicinal Carbon 200mg capsules:
Use the medicine according to the doctor's recommendations or as indicated on the leaflet. Use orally. Diarrhea: take 3-4 capsules at a time, with a small amount of water. If necessary, the dose can be repeated 3 or more times a day. In the case of long-term or recurrent diarrhea, consult a doctor. Poisoning: immediately take 10 capsules one after another, with a small amount of water. The dose should be repeated several times after short breaks and see a doctor immediately. Activated charcoal suspension can be administered through a gastric tube, e.g. during gastric lavage.
