NORTASE pancreatic enzymes, ENZYME TREATMENT FOR POMPLANTIC GLANDS WEAKNESS FOR MORE QUALITY OF LIFE
Everyone has experienced bloating, gas, diarrhea and stomach pain after eating. Every 10th person with such symptoms suffers from a serious dysfunction of the pancreas, which can no longer produce enough digestive enzymes to break down food. The result is pancreatic weakness, also known as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency or EPI for short, with symptoms that lead to restrictions in everyday life and quality of life. If the cause is exocrine pancreatic insufficiency or if your pancreas was completely or partially removed during an operation, you can replace the missing digestive enzymes with enzyme preparations. Their enzymes are obtained either from the pancreas of pigs (pancreatin) or from rice mushroom cultures (rizoenzymes).
HOW THE RIZOENZYMS FROM NORTASE ® WORK To break down, NORTASE pancreatic enzymes
food, the pancreas releases important enzymes (lipase, amylase, protease) directly into the small intestine. These are enzymes that are able to break down sugar, proteins and fats. Since not enough digestive enzymes are released in exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, these essential enzymes have to be supplied from the outside. The supplied rizoenzymes take over the function of the body's own digestive enzymes and not only break down the food in the small intestine, but thanks to their natural acid stability, digestion can begin in the stomach, which enables the full and efficient utilization of important nutrients.
APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION:
NORTASE ® - uncomplicated dosage without calculating the enzyme units As rizoenzymes are naturally acid-stable, they can break down food in the stomach, which is why the dosage differs significantly from the usual digestive enzyme preparations.
• For mild to moderate complaints / a light to moderate EPI: 2 to 3 capsules of NORTASE ® distributed over the main meal
• For severe complaints / a severe EPI: 3 capsules of NORTASE ® distributed over the main meal
• Low-fat snacks and drinks containing milk: 1 capsule of NORTASE ®
If the symptoms persist, it may be necessary to adjust the amount of capsules due to individual factors (e.g. additional illnesses). This should be agreed with the attending physician in each case.
RISK GROUPS OF AN EPI
People with diabetes mellitus, chronic pancreatitis, excessive alcohol consumption, smokers, cystic fibrosis, gallstones, obesity and increasing age (over 50 years) have an increased risk of developing an EPI.
WHAT COMES WITH AN EPI?
With an EPI, the breakdown of carbohydrates, proteins and especially fats is disturbed due to the reduced secretion of digestive enzymes from the pancreas. Due to the lack of breakdown, important nutritional components such as fat-soluble vitamins, minerals and fatty acids cannot be absorbed into the blood. Deficiency symptoms, weight loss and increased fat excretion occur.
Irritable bowels or EPI?
According to one study, 6% of diagnosed irritable bowel patients actually suffer from exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI). An important differentiator, which speaks in favor of an EPI, is a greasy, shiny stool. Talk to your doctor about additional diagnostic procedures.
NORTASE pancreatic enzymes FREQUENT QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:
Can I treat myself with NORTASE ® ?
Pancreatic weakness (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency) in which NORTASE ® is used is a chronic disease that should be diagnosed and monitored by a doctor. If you have not already done so, you should have your symptoms examined and monitored by a doctor. In order to achieve the best possible treatment success, you must take the drug according to the instructions. Read the instructions for use carefully before using for the first time.
Do I have to change my diet if I have exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and, in particular, aim for a low-fat diet?
In general, you should always consult your doctor or nutritionist about this. In principle, you do not have to change your diet if the pancreatic function is restricted. Your pancreas produces fewer digestive enzymes, which are important for the breakdown and utilization of the food components, when it is not functioning properly. By means of enzyme substitution, ie replacement of digestive enzymes with special drugs such as NORTASE ® , you supply your body with digestive enzymes with food, which break down fats, proteins and carbohydrates and make them usable for the body. You can dose the capsules from NORTASE ® very easily and take them distributed over the meal.
Is NORTASE ®suitable for vegetarians?
Yes, because no animal ingredients and gelatine are used, but rizoenzymes from rice mushrooms. However, NORTASE ® contains a small amount of lactose from cow's milk as an adjuvant.
