For oral electrolyte and fluid supply (compensation of salt and water losses) in the case of diarrhea.
Diarrhea is a digestive disorder in which fluid increases the volume of stool. The number of bowel movements also increases. The resulting loss of water and minerals makes you feel very weak.
Diarrhea can be B. by food intolerancebe evoked. Infectious diarrhea caused by viruses or bacteria, e.g. B. when traveling. In addition, diarrhea can also be psychological and occur with stress, fear or excitement (exams).
Diarrhea is a common cause of derailment of the water and mineral balance. This often has serious consequences, especially in children, because they have a three to four times higher fluid turnover than adults and suffer correspondingly higher mineral and fluid losses in the case of diarrhea. For this reason, any loss of fluid must be corrected immediately and properly.
Important is that the drinking solution for fluid balancing contains a balanced electrolyte concentration tailored to the needs of the child. The absorption of the electrolytes supplied in this way from the intestine is supported by the presence of glucose (sugar). Oralpädon ® contains glucose and electrolytes in an optimal composition.
