Active substance:
sodium picosulphate. 1ml Pikopil medicament comprises sodium picosulfate in an amount equivalent to 7.5 mg anhydrous sodium pikosiarczanu (1 ml = 15
drops).
Other ingredients:
sodium benzoate, sorbitol, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, and water for injection.
Action:
Pikopil in the form of drops is an innovative preparation used to alleviate or remove the problem of constipation of various etiologies. Contained in the composition of sodium picosulphate was classified to a group of laxatives irritant. The medicament exerts its effects on intestinal motility and increases the amount of water and electrolytes in the light of the large intestine causing the same effect defecation.
Application:
Pikopil drops of 7.5 mg / ml is used for short-term alleviation of symptoms associated with chronic or recurrent constipation in adults and children older than 4 years.
Dosage:
Adults: 8 to 12 drops (4 - 6 mg) once.
Children and adolescents: Children over 6 years: 8 to 12 drops (4 - 6 mg) once.
Children aged 4 to 6 years: 6 drops (3 mg) once.
