- The active substances in Maxiseptic are octenidine dihydrochloride and phenoxyethanol. The spray has antibacterial and antifungal properties, it is intended for use on the skin surface.
Composition of Maxiseptic aerosol:
Active substances: octenidine dihydrochloride and phenoxyethanol. 1ml spray on the skin contains 1mg octenidine dihydrochloride and 20mg phenoxyethanol and other ingredients: sodium gluconate, glycerol, cocamidopropyl betaine CAB 30-LQ- (MH), purified water and hydrochloric acid, 10% solution (to adjust pH 5.0-6, 5).
Maxiseptic aerosol action:
A colorless solution with a characteristic odor containing as active substances - phenoxyethanol and octenidine dihydrochloride. They exhibit antibacterial and antifungal properties. Maxiseptic aerosol is applied to the skin or wounds as an antiseptic, which is designed to destroy microbes and infectious agents, thereby preventing infection. The preparation has a convenient-to-use dosing pump.
Application:
The medicinal product Maxiseptic aerosol indicated for use in children and adults in the case of repeated short-term antiseptic treatment within the mucous membranes and adjacent tissues before diagnostic procedures within the genitals - vagina, vulva, glans penis and anus, as well as before bladder catheterization urinary; antiseptic treatment of small and superficial wounds, as well as disinfection of the skin before non-surgical procedures; time-limited supportive antiseptic treatment for interdigital mycosis.
Additional information:
The product should be stored out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Do not apply the drug to the breast area of nursing women. Do not swallow, do not allow the medicine to enter the bloodstream (e.g. accidental injection). Particular caution should be exercised when using the drug in newborns, especially in premature babies. The preparation may cause severe skin changes. Excess medication should be removed by making sure that it does not stay on the skin longer than required. Do not apply to the eye, in case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Do not mix with other substances, especially in combination with antiseptics based on PVP-iodine (iodopovidone) in adjacent skin areas, there is a danger, that intense brown-purple discoloration will appear in the border area. Avoid contact with anionic surfactants (including detergents and cleaning substances). Because of the risk of interaction with anionic compounds, it is recommended to use distilled water (or water for injections) as a solvent.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use for abdominal (e.g. intraoperative) rinsing, bladder or eardrum.
Side effects: Side effects may occur when using the spray. However, they do not occur in everyone. Rare: burning sensation, redness, itching, warmth. Very rare: contact allergic reactions, e.g. transient redness at the application site. Not known: persistent swelling, erythema and tissue necrosis have been reported after flushing deep wounds with a syringe. In some cases, surgical intervention was necessary. It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy and breast-feeding, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
Maxiseptic aerosol dosage:
Use as directed by your doctor or as directed on the leaflet. For external use only. For use on the surface of the skin (should not be administered using a syringe for deep tissue layers) and within wounds. Use undiluted. Spray once a day. Apply in such a way as to ensure complete wetting of the treated areas. You can also use the medicine by wiping selected areas with pre-moistened swabs (at least two swabs at once to ensure complete hydration). It is recommended to apply the drug with moistened swabs. After application, wait for the preparation to dry completely (1-2 minutes) and then put on a dressing, a platter or put on clothing. Time-limited supportive antiseptic treatment for interdigital mycosis: apply the medicine to affected areas in the morning and evening. Do not use for more than two weeks without consulting a doctor, if after 14 days of use the symptoms persist or get worse, consult a doctor.
