What is Hylo Dual Intense?
Hylo Dual Intense is a sterile, preservative-free solution for ophthalmic use.
Composition:
1 ml of Hylo Dual Intense contains 2 mg sodium hyaluronate, 20 mg ectoine, boric acid, borax, and water for injection.
What is Hylo Dual Intense used for?
Hylo Dual Intense is used for intensive, therapeutic lubrication of dry eyes and for stabilizing the tear film. Relieves inflammatory symptoms such as itching and burning.
When should Hylo Dual Intense be used?
- Hylo Dual Intense is intended for the treatment of dry eyes. Burning, itching, tearing, a foreign body sensation in the eyes, or the feeling of having dry eyes are symptoms of an irritated eye. These are often signs that the eye is not sufficiently moisturized. Due to the dual action of sodium hyaluronate and ectoine, the use of Hylo Dual Intense is particularly beneficial in these cases.
- Hylo Dual Intense contains the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in many organs of the human body, including the eye. It has the unique physical property of forming a smooth, stable, and exceptionally long-lasting film of moisture on the surface of the eye without being quickly washed away. This so-called bioadhesive property protects the cornea and conjunctiva and, together with natural tears, provides ideal lubrication for blinking. Hylo Dual Intense contains a particularly high concentration of hyaluronic acid and is therefore highly viscous. This ensures that the eye is intensively and sustainably supplied with a stable film of moisture. Persistent or severe discomfort is alleviated, and the eye is permanently protected from irritation.
- Ectoin is a natural substance derived from microorganisms living in extreme environments (e.g., salt lakes). To protect themselves from the harsh environmental conditions, these microorganisms produce ectoin, whose special properties are utilized in Hylo Dual Intense. Ectoin increases water retention on the cells of the eye's surface, thus forming a physiological barrier on the conjunctiva. Simultaneously, ectoin stabilizes the fat-soluble component of the tear film, protecting against excessive tear evaporation.
- Through the combined action of sodium hyaluronate and ectoine, the eye is supplied with an intensive, long-lasting film of moisture and protected from tear evaporation. Typical symptoms such as itching and burning, which occur as inflammatory reactions to environmental irritants, are relieved by Hylo Dual Intense.
How do you use Hylo Dual Intense?
- Only use Hylo Dual Intense if the seal on the folding carton was intact before first use.
- Please contact the manufacturer if you have any questions about the correct use of this medical device.
- A bottle containing 10 ml of solution is equivalent to approximately 300 drops.
- For production-related reasons, a small amount of liquid always remains in the bottle.
- Hylo Dual Intense is suitable for long-term treatment and can be used by adults and children aged 6 and over.
- The contents of one bottle of Hylo Dual Intense should always be used to treat the same person.
What other instructions should be observed regarding the application?
- If you do not feel better, or if you feel worse after several days of use, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. If you are also using other eye drops, wait at least 30 minutes between applications. Hylo Dual Intense should always be applied last. Do not use any eye ointments while using Hylo Dual Intense.
- Due to its preservative-free formula, Hylo Dual Intense is particularly well tolerated even with prolonged use. In very rare individual cases, adverse reactions such as hypersensitivity reactions, burning or watering, pain, a foreign body sensation, or other temporary local irritations have been reported, which subsided after discontinuation of Hylo Dual Intense.
- Due to the viscosity of the preparation, temporary blurred vision is possible immediately after applying Hylo Dual Intense. In very rare cases, this may cause temporary headaches in sensitive patients. Do not use Hylo Dual Intense while wearing contact lenses due to its viscosity.
- There are no controlled data on the use of Hylo Dual Intense in children or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Based on current knowledge, Hylo Dual Intense can be used in children over 6 years of age, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- If a serious incident occurs during or as a result of the use of this medical device, please report it to the manufacturer.
- How often and for how long should you use Hylo Dual Intense? Generally, adults and children aged 6 and over should instill 1 drop of Hylo Dual Intense into the conjunctival sac of each eye 3 times a day. If you use Hylo Dual Intense more frequently (e.g., more than 10 times a day) or experience more severe symptoms, you should consult an ophthalmologist regularly.
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as in children under 12 years of age, Hylo Dual Intense should not be used more than 10 times a day.
- Hylo Dual Intense is suitable for continuous use.
- However, as with all illnesses, you should consult an ophthalmologist if symptoms persist for longer than two weeks.
- When should Hylo Dual Intense not be used? Hylo Dual Intense should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients, nor in children under 6 years of age.
- Do not use Hylo Dual Intense while wearing contact lenses.
What storage instructions should be followed for Hylo Dual Intense?
- Do not store above 25°C.
- Once opened, Hylo Dual Intense can be used for 6 months.
- Do not use after the expiry date.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Dispose of this medical device with your household waste in accordance with your national legislation. This action will help protect the environment.
