Canesten ® GYN 3-day therapy vaginal cream - simply treat vaginal fungus yourself

The advantages of the Canesten ® GYN 3-Day-Therapy Vaginal Cream:

• enables effective and comfortable self-treatment for vaginal thrush
• contains the highly effective active ingredient clotrimazole (20 milligrams)
• fights the pathogen directly on site
• for women with a rather dry vagina (for example after the Menopause) suitable
• Canesten ® GYN 3-day therapy Vaginal cream for internal use in the case of vaginal thrush under medical supervision also during pregnancy

Vaginal thrush is a very unpleasant disease that those affected do not want to talk about - but which affects many women. This is an infection of the genital area with symptoms such as itching, white discharge from the vagina, and slight swelling of the labia.

Yeast fungi in the genital area are quite normal in and of themselves - small numbers of them are part of the natural colonization of the vaginal flora and generally do not cause any discomfort. If the vaginal flora is out of balance, the pathogens can multiply and cause infections. Usually yeasts of the genus Candida are the cause.

If the subsequent inflammation is not treated, this can also pave the way for bacteria and lead to an overlying infection (superinfection).

The development of a vaginal yeast infection can be favored by:

• fluctuations in the hormonal balance (especially during pregnancy, but also through the use of birth control pills)
• a weakened immune system
• excessive intimate hygiene that disrupts the natural skin flora
• metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus
• functional disorders of the thyroid gland
• certain medications (for example antibiotics)
• stress
• tight clothing or air-impermeable fabrics (as they promote sweating in the genital area)

Those affected should also note that the genital fungus can be transmitted to the partner during unprotected sexual intercourse. However, the man's glans is better ventilated and tends to be dry. As a result, the mushrooms do not multiply as rapidly there as in the vagina - in which there is a moist environment. If the woman repeatedly suffers from vaginal thrush, treatment of the partner can also be useful in order to exclude him as a carrier of the pathogen.

With Canesten ®GYN 3-Day-Therapy Vaginal Cream is an effective medicine for the treatment of vaginal thrush, especially if you have little or no symptoms in the external vaginal area. The active ingredient clotrimazole fights fungi and some bacteria that can accumulate in the vagina - and thus reliably alleviates the symptoms.

The advantage: Especially women who have a rather dry vagina after the menopause, for example, can use Canesten ® GYN 3-day therapy vaginal cream without any problems. Canesten ® GYN 3-day therapy vaginal cream is also suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women under medical supervision.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, treatment with the vaginal cream is carried out on three consecutive days - preferably right before bedtime. This is how it works:

• Fill the applicator with 5 micrograms of cream. To do this, pull the plunger up to the stop, place the applicator on the cream tube and press carefully.
• Now insert the applicator carefully and as deeply as possible into the vagina. This works best in a relaxed supine position and with legs slightly drawn up.
• By pushing you can empty the plunger and the cream gets where it is supposed to work.
• The applicator is intended for single use only and must be disposed of after use.

You will also find a detailed description of the application in the instruction leaflet. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Also, do not use it after the expiration date on the tube; this always refers to the last day of the month.

Please note that Canesten ® GYN 3-Day Therapy Vaginal Cream should not be used during menstruation. You should also refrain from using it if you are known to be hypersensitive to clotrimazole or other ingredients.

If, in addition to the typical vaginal yeast symptoms, back pain, abdominal pain, nausea, bad-smelling vaginal discharge or vaginal bleeding, possibly in connection with shoulder pain or fever (at least 38 degrees Celsius), you should definitely consult a doctor. The same applies if a vaginal infection has occurred more than four times within a year.

Be careful if you also use latex products (such as condoms or diaphragms) for contraception during application: the safety of these products may be temporarily impaired.

The active ingredient of Canesten ® GYN 3-day therapy vaginal clotrimazole cream

Canesten ®GYN 3-day therapy vaginal cream is available in a 20 gram aluminum tube, combined with three applicators. One gram of the cream contains around 20 micrograms of clotrimazole, which corresponds to an active ingredient content of two percent.

Clotrimazole prevents fungal cells and some bacteria from growing or multiplying, and thereby brings about a rapid improvement in symptoms. As with any drug, side effects cannot be ruled out with Canesten ® GYN 3-Day Therapy Vaginal Cream. And interactions with other drugs are also possible under certain circumstances.
