Vagiflor® care
The most natural protection against vaginal complaints is a healthy vaginal flora.

Various types of lactobacilli support the vaginal flora by fermenting sugar into lactic acid, creating a slightly acidic pH of between 3.8 and 4.5.

The acidic environment offers effective protection against infections caused by pathogenic bacteria or fungi.

A disturbance of the vaginal micro-ecological balance usually leads to an increase in pH to over 4.5.

This shift also poses a significant health risk.

When is an application useful?
During pregnancy it is recommended to perform the vaginal pH test twice a week. In this way, you can also make sure between check-ups with your gynecologist whether the pH value of your vagina is correct.

There is also nothing wrong with carrying out the measurement more frequently.

This is particularly recommended if you have already suffered from vaginal infections during pregnancy or are prone to premature births.

If you are not pregnant, it makes sense to use:

  • if vaginosis (bacterial infection) or fungal infection is suspected
  • in the event of intimate discomfort (burning, itching, fishy smell, discharge)
  • after treatment of a vaginal infection
  • after sexual contact with a new partner
  • before and after vaginal surgery

Before using the pH rapid test
Please note that the test cannot provide a reliable result if you take the measurement within 12 hours after sexual intercourse or within 12 hours after using vaginal therapeutics (suppositories, creams, etc.) and within 3 to 4 days after your menstrual period has stopped.

Do not wash your intimate area immediately before the measurement and remember that urine can falsify the test result. Improper use can cause rupture of the hymen in untouched women, similar to using tampons.

Determining your vaginal pH value is simple, hygienic and completely painless.

ph test kits vaginal, VAGIFLOR care vaginal pH test Application:

  • After washing your hands, open the foil and remove the test.
  • Only grasp the applicator by the rounded grip zone and hold it between your thumb and forefinger. The thumb should always be on the side of the vaginal applicator that does not have a pH measurement zone. Avoid that the pH measuring zone comes into contact with other liquids.
  • Sit with your knees apart or stand with one foot on the toilet seat or other firm surface.
  • Now, with the help of your free hand, gently spread the vaginal opening by carefully pushing the outer labia apart.
  • Gently insert the vaginal applicator into the vagina as if you were using a tampon (approximately 1-3 cm deep, but no deeper than the rounded grip area).
  • Now press the introduced vaginal applicator with light pressure against the back vaginal wall (pointing towards the rectum) for about 10 seconds so that the pH measuring zone is well moistened. Sufficient moistening is important for a correct result.
  • Then carefully pull the vaginal applicator out of the vagina and read the test result immediately while the measuring zone is still wet.

Evaluation ph test kits vaginal, VAGIFLOR care vaginal pH test

Compare the color of the pH measuring zone with the color scale below and note the value on the color scale that most closely resembles your measured pH value.

If the indicator color is yellowish, your vaginal pH is in the range of 4.0 to 4.4, which is normal.

The hue of the indicator changes to a brown-green-blue hue when a pH above 4.4 is measured.

Vaginal pH values above 4.4 are outside the normal range. If the pH measuring zone does not show a uniform color after the test has been performed, this is an indication that the test was not performed correctly.

A possible cause is that the pH measuring zone was not sufficiently moistened with vaginal secretion. In this case, you can repeat the measurement with the same vaginal applicator.

After the test evaluation, dispose of the applicator together with the packaging in the household waste. If your vaginal pH is not within the normal range, there is no need to worry. In this case, repeat the measurement a few hours later or the next day.

If the pH value is still not in the normal range, you should talk to your doctor about it so that the cause can be clarified
