Active Feverfew ingredients and mode of action
The active ingredients of feverfew are found in the above-ground parts of the plant. The so-called bitter substance parthenolide is considered to be medically effective. This is a so-called sesquiterpene lactone from the essential oil of feverfew. In addition to the parthenolide, feverfew contains more than 20 other sesquiterpenes that have not been studied in detail.
