Excedrin Duo 20 coated Migraines, headaches, backache, period pain, toothache, rheumatic and muscle pain, tablets
Excedrin Duo contains two active ingredients (which make the medicine work): paracetamol and ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). NSAIDs work by relieving pain, reducing swelling, and lowering elevated body temperature. Paracetamol is an analgesic that relieves pain and fever by acting differently than ibuprofen.
Indications:
Excedrin Duo is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain associated with migraines, headaches, backache, period pain, toothache, rheumatic and muscle pain, non-severe arthritis pain, cold and flu symptoms, sore throat, and fever. This product is particularly suitable for pain that cannot be relieved by ibuprofen or paracetamol alone. Excedrin Duo is intended for adults over 18 years of age.
Composition:
The active substances of this medicine are paracetamol and ibuprofen. Each film-coated tablet contains 500 mg of paracetamol and 200 mg of ibuprofen.
The other ingredients are: croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal anhydrous silica, stearic acid, magnesium stearate. Coating: macrogol-polyvinyl alcohol graft copolymer, talc, mica pearlescent dye, glycerol monocaprylocaproate, polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide (E171), black iron oxide (E172).
Dosage:
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
For oral use and for short-term use only.
Taking the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms reduces the risk of side effects. If you have an infection, consult your doctor immediately if symptoms (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen.
If you have liver or kidney disease, or are elderly, your doctor will determine the appropriate dose, which is as low as possible. Do not use this medicine if you have severe kidney or liver disease.
Do not take Excedrin Duo for more than 3 days. If symptoms worsen or persist, consult your doctor.
Migraines, headaches, backache, period pain, toothache, rheumatic and muscle pain
Adults
Take one tablet, up to three times a day. There must be at least 6 hours between doses. If one tablet does not provide symptom control, a maximum of two tablets may be taken up to three times a day. A single dose of two tablets is intended for patients weighing 60 kg or more. Leave at least 6 hours between doses.
Do not take more than six tablets in 24 hours (equivalent to 3000 mg of paracetamol, 1200 mg of ibuprofen).
Take Excedrin Duo with a glass of water. To reduce the likelihood of side effects, take Excedrin Duo with food. If
you take more Excedrin Duo than you should:
If you take more Excedrin Duo than you should, or if children accidentally take this medicine, always contact your doctor or nearest hospital for an opinion on the risks and advice on what action to take. Symptoms may include nausea, stomach pain, vomiting (the vomit may contain blood), headache, ringing in the ears, confusion, and shaky eye movement. After taking high doses, drowsiness, chest pain, palpitations, loss of consciousness, seizures (mainly in children), weakness and dizziness, blood in the urine, a cold feeling throughout the body, and difficulty breathing have been reported. If you take too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately, even if you feel well. This is because too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage.
If you forget to take Excedrin Duo:
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and the next dose should be taken no sooner than 6 hours later.
