Did you know that 93% of gynecologists recommend supplementing your diet with vitamins during pregnancy?
As you enter the first trimester of your pregnancy, you want to give your baby a healthy start in life.1
Pregnancy prepares you to welcome new life into the world. The first trimester begins from the 1st week and your body needs a larger amount of many nutrients to support you and your baby.
Femibion® 1 Early Pregnancy contains 800 μg Folic Acid Plus¹ (a combination of folic acid and Metafolin®) to effectively increase folate levels.²
Femibion® 1 Early Pregnancy also contains selected nutrients that are tailored to your pregnancy: choline, iron, vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, C, D, E, biotin, niacin, pantothenic acid, iodine, iron and selenium.
Femibion is the No. 1* recommendation of gynecologists and offers a coordinated product for every phase from the desire to have children to breastfeeding.
Adequate folic acid intake is essential throughout pregnancy, but especially during the first trimester. Low maternal folate levels are a risk factor for developing neural tube defects in your unborn baby.1 Folate requirements remain elevated through the end of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

-free, without gelatine ¹Femibion® products contain Folic Acid Plus (a combination of folic acid and Metafolin®) and selected nutrients. Metafolin® is a form of folate that can be absorbed directly by the body and helps increase folate levels, which are important for your baby's healthy development.¹ Metafolin® is a registered trademark of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, and is used under license used.
The additional folic acid intake increases maternal folate levels. Low maternal folate levels are a risk factor for developing neural tube defects in the growing fetus. That is why women are recommended to take an additional 400 folic acid daily for at least one month before and up to three months after conception. There is scientific evidence to suggest that low maternal folate levels are a significant risk factor for developing neural tube defects. However, there are other risk factors as well. Therefore, changing a single factor may or may not have a beneficial effect. Folate also remains important later in pregnancy as it contributes to the growth of maternal tissue (eg the placenta). The placenta provides the baby with all the nutrients.
Femibion® 2 and Femibion® 3 also contain DHA (omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid). Maternal intake of DHA contributes to normal brain and eye development in the fetus and breastfed infant. In addition to the recommended daily dose of 250 mg of omega-3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA) for adults, an additional 200 mg of DHA is recommended.
