PrämensPlus was developed in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Döll and contains valuable plant extracts such as monk's pepper, Rhadiola Rosea and lady's mantle as well as vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Vitamin B helps regulate hormone activity.
The term premenstrual syndrome covers various symptoms that occur month after month before menstruation, including abdominal cramps, water retention, tender breasts, headaches, cravings for sweets, irritable mood and difficulty concentrating. The symptoms usually begin a few days to two weeks before the bleeding and worsen until it begins. Typically, the symptoms disappear when the bleeding starts or one to two days afterward.
Yarrow (Achillea) is a well-known herb in gynecology and contains azulene, flavones, eucalyptol, bitter substances and tannins, among other things.
The product PrämensPlus contains 300 mg of magnesium per daily dose.
Studies confirm that magnesium in the organically bound form as magnesium citrate is highly bioavailable.
Lady's mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris) belongs to the rose family and is very common in our latitudes.
Another ingredient in PrämensPlus is chasteberry extract (Vitex agnus-castus). Chasteberry contains numerous secondary plant substances, including flavonoids, tannins, diterpenes and iridoids.
Rhodiola rosea belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is a succulent plant that is found in arctic regions as well as in the mountainous regions of North America, Europe and Asia. Rhodiola rosea got its name because its underground, tuberous stem smells like roses. RhodioLife® is a standardized extract and contains 1.5g rosavin and 0.5g salidroside per 100 mg of roseroot extract.
The South African plant Griffonia simplicifolia (also known as the African black bean) contains 5-HTP (hydroxytryptophan), which is converted into serotonin in our bodies. The seeds from the pods of the African climbing plant are processed into powder for use as a dietary supplement. The happiness hormone serotonin is involved in many metabolic processes, such as sleep control through the formation of melatonin from serotonin.
Many women react to the drop in female sex hormones shortly before their period with mood swings. Less well known, and not even realized by many women, is that headaches can be linked to the change in hormones.
Estrogen receptors are present throughout the nervous system, which is why it is assumed that the sudden drop and lack of estrogen shortly before the start of the period leads to an increased transmission of pain signals. On other days, headaches may not be felt as strongly as shortly before and during the period.
Many women cannot identify exactly when the headaches occur. It can be helpful to keep a diary to become aware of any regularities and to support the body in certain phases with relaxation exercises and additional nutrients.
