For a healthy vitamin D supply
More than 80 percent of people in Germany do not take in sufficient vitamin D *. As an essential nutritional component, vitamin D is increasingly at the center of medical research when it comes to maintaining health, performance and well-being. As a central component of numerous metabolic processes in the body, vitamin D is an important factor for our vitality. However, our lifestyle has become significantly less sunshine in recent years. Many people spend practically the whole day in closed rooms. We only manage to cover 10% of our vitamin D requirements through food. In order to avoid an undersupply, vitamin D should therefore also be supplied from outside if necessary.

Consumption of one Vitagamma ® tablet D3 2,000 IU every other day can ensure a sufficient supply of vitamin D in the long term. Take only once a week

  • Well-tolerated dietary supplement
  • Contributes to a balanced vitamin D3 balance
  • Lactose and gluten free, without preservatives

The sun
vitamin vitamin D is also known as the " sun vitamin" due to its formation through UV-B radiation in the skin and is involved in many processes in the body. It contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function and teeth, affects the resilience and strength of the bones and plays a role in the absorption and utilization of the minerals calcium and phosphorus. In addition, the normal function of the immune system is supported. A sufficient supply of vitamin D is therefore of central importance for performance and health.

RECOMMENDED USE:
Adults take one Vitagamma ® tablet once a week D3 5,600 IU whole with any meal with sufficient liquid. The food supplement is suitable for long-term use, the recommended consumption must not be exceeded.

PREGNANCY & BREAST-FEEDING
According to studies, 98 percent of pregnant women are not adequately supplied with vitamin D in the winter months **. According to the DGE, pregnant and breastfeeding women need 800 IU of vitamin D *** per day, and clinical studies also show that pregnant women, breastfeeding women and their children can benefit from higher doses ****.

PREVENTING COOLS An inadequate supply of vitamin D can affect the immune system. Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system. FOR SENIORS

With increasing age, the absorption capacity of the skin decreases significantly, and limited mobility of older people can also lead to the fact that they spend too little time in the sun and the body is not adequately supplied with vitamin D. Vitamin D helps maintain normal bones.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:
How is vitamin D3 made?
Vitamin D3 is one of the fat-soluble vitamins. It is one of the few vitamins that the body can produce on its own. When UV-B radiation hits the skin, vitamin D3 is formed from the body's own precursor 7-dehydrocholesterol, transported via the blood to the liver and converted there into its storage form, the so-called calcidiol. From this the hormone calcitriol is finally formed in the kidneys. The term “vitamin” is therefore not entirely correct. Strictly speaking, active vitamin D3 is a hormone.

How much sun does the body need to produce enough vitamin D?
The UV-B radiation of sunlight is necessary for vitamin D to be formed in the body. Exact information on the duration and frequency of sunbathing cannot be given, since latitude, season and weather play a decisive role, as do skin type, age and the use of sunscreen.

In Germany, around 20 to 30 minutes a day can be enough to cover the vitamin D requirement in summer. The prerequisite for this benchmark is that sufficient skin on the face, hands and arms is exposed to the sun. In the period from October to April, however, the local solar radiation is not intense enough to ensure an adequate supply of vitamin D.

How can I determine my vitamin D status?
The vitamin D level is determined through the blood; the storage form of vitamin D (calcidiol) is measured. With this value, statements can be made regarding the long-term vitamin D supply. The blood test should be carried out by the family doctor.
