Vitamin C-Rotexmedica is used for
- methaemoglobinaemia in childhood (especially after poisoning, threatening decrease in oxygen transport in the blood)
- Vitamin C supply with artificial (parenteral) nutrition
Note: One ampoule contains 64.4 mg sodium

What is Vitamin C-Rotexmedica and what is it used for?
Vitamin C-Rotexmedica is a medicine containing vitamins.
Vitamin C-Rotexmedica is used for:
- Methaemoglobinemia in children (a threatening reduction in oxygen transport in the blood that occurs especially after poisoning)
- Vitamin C supply with artificial (parenteral) nutrition
How to use Vitamin C-Rotexmedica ?
Always use Vitamin C-Rotexmedica exactly according to the instructions in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor if you are not sure.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
Received to prevent vitamin C deficiency during prolonged artificial feeding
- Adults intravenously 100 to 500 mg ascorbic acid per day
- Children intravenously 5-7 mg ascorbic acid/kg body weight per day.
In methaemoglobinemia in childhood
- 500 to 1000 mg of ascorbic acid are injected intravenously once
- If necessary, the administration should be repeated with the same dosage.
- A dose of 100 mg/kg body weight per day should not be exceeded.
Vitami C-Rotexmedica is slowly injected intravenously by your doctor or other medical staff.
Your doctor will decide on the duration of use based on the course of the disease and the blood values.
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Vitamin C-Rotexmedica is too strong or too weak.
If a larger amount of Vitamin C-Rotexmedica has been used than prescribed
the use of Vitamin C-Rotexmedica is interrupted. Other measures are generally necessary except when hemolysis or kidney stones occur ( see section "Precautions for use and warnings", not necessary
If you experience pain in the kidney area or difficulty urinating after a high dose of Vitamin C-Rotexmedica, you should contact a doctor immediately
