A moderate amount of time outdoors without sunscreen is necessary to keep vitamin D levels at a healthy level. However, increasing computerization and the autumn and winter months do not make this project easy for us, and normal foods only contain very small amounts of vitamin D. In order to consume 500 IU through food, the following would have to be on our daily menu: 4 eggs, 150 g mushrooms (e.g. porcini and shiitake), 150 g avocado, 250 g beef liver, 200 g mackerel or eel. A very good alternative to this menu is supplementing with a vitamin D3 supplement.
Consumption Vitamin D3 recommendation:
Adults half a tablet every ten days or 1 tablet every twenty days with a meal and plenty of water.
Not suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
