Vitamin K2 is obtained from the natural raw material natto. As a “bone vitamin”, it is one of the most important fat-soluble vitamins. In its active form, MK7-all-trans, it is responsible for activating the protein osteocalcin, which transports calcium to the bones. Vitamin K2 MK-7 has a bacterial origin and therefore a long half-life, so that even a single daily dose ensures constant protection from vitamin K2.
Behind the generic term vitamin K there is a collective term that stands for various substances (phylloquinone = vitamin K1, menachion = vitamin K2, menadione = vitamin K3).
