Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) corresponds to the body's own vitamin D and can be absorbed and utilized much better than vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol). It is converted in the liver to calcidiol (25-hydroxyvitamin D) and then in the kidneys to biologically active calcitriol.
Vitamin D3 10,000 IU is a high dose and only needs to be taken once a week to ensure a basic supply of vitamin D. If you already have a vitamin D deficiency, the dose can be increased after consulting a doctor.
