  • Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
  • Taking the drug may cause nausea or vomiting. The frequency cannot be estimated from the available data.
  • If the side effects mentioned above occur, you should exceptionally take the medicine with meals, but if possible not together with plant-based foods (see category "Patient information".).

Interactions Zinc deficiency spider veins, ZINC VERLA :

  • Taking with other medicines:
    • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines.
    • The simultaneous administration of zinc and iron salts or copper salts can reduce the absorption of zinc into the bloodstream.
    • Zinc can affect the availability of copper. The effectiveness of antibiotics such as tetracycline, ciprofloxacin and quinolones is reduced if zinc is taken at the same time. The administration of complexing agents such as D-penicillamine, dimercaptopropane sulfonic acid (DMPS) or edetic acid (EDTA) can reduce the uptake of zinc or increase its excretion.
    • There should therefore be a gap of at least 2 hours between taking the medicine and taking these preparations.
  • Taking with food and drink:
    • Foods with a high content of phytine (e.g. grain products, legumes, nuts) reduce zinc absorption. There is evidence that coffee impairs the absorption of zinc.

Contraindications :
  • The drug must not be taken
    • if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to zinc D-gluconate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Pregnancy and lactation :
  • If used as directed, there are no restrictions on taking the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding within the recommended dose range.
  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking/using any medicine.
Patient Notes :
  • Warnings and Precautions:
    • If zinc is used for a longer period of time, copper should be monitored in the laboratory as well as zinc.

  • Driving and using machines:
    • There are no special precautions required.
