RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE:
MometaHEXAL ®Hay fever spray should be used regularly once a day during the pollen season. Use two sprays in each nostril for the first few days. Once symptoms such as sneezing, runny or stuffy nose are under control, a lower dose of one spray per nostril may be sufficient.
Tip for severe hay fever: Spray the allergy spray into your nose at the first sign of hay fever symptoms to be able to breathe deeply again quickly.
In order for the active ingredient to have an optimal effect in the nose, the right spraying technique is important.
Step 1: Shake the bottle before use. Clean your nose carefully. Then take the bottle and remove the protective cap.
Step 2: Now close one nostril and insert the nose piece about 1 cm deep into the other nostril. It is best to spray while standing and look at your feet. Hold the bottle upright and pointing slightly outwards, not towards the nasal septum. It is best to spray with the left hand into the right nostril and vice versa.

How does MometaHEXAL ® Hay Fever Spray work?
MometaHEXAL ® hay fever spray contains mometason, a substance from the group of so-called glucocorticoids. These highly effective, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic substances intervene directly in the inflammatory process in allergies. Mometasone stops the release of histamine, cytokines, prostaglandins and other inflammatory mediators. Spraying mometasone into the nose can help relieve inflammation (swelling and irritation of the nose), sneezing, itching, and a stuffy or runny nose.
How is MometaHEXAL ®Used hay fever spray?
The recommended dose is 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. Once your symptoms are under control you can reduce the number of sprays to 1 spray into each nostril once a day. If your symptoms worsen again, increase the dose to 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. The nasal spray works for 24 hours.

When and how long should MometaHEXAL ®hay fever spray can be used?
If you suffer severely from hay fever, treatment should begin a few days before the start of the pollen season. It is very important that you use your nasal spray regularly, preferably at the same time each time. In some patients, MometaHEXAL ® Hay Fever Spray can relieve symptoms as early as 12 hours after the first dose; however, the full effect of the treatment may only be felt after 2 days. Do not stop treatment even if you feel better unless your doctor tells you to.
MometaHEXAL ®Hay fever spray is well tolerated even when used over a longer period of time. The local application also hardly affects the rest of the organism, since only a minimal proportion of the active ingredient passes into the blood.

How should MometaHEXAL ® hay fever spray be stored?
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the stated expiry date. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not dispose drugs in the wastewater or household waste. Do not freeze.

Hay Fever Spray • if you are allergic to mometasone furoate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
• if you have an untreated infection in your nose.
• if you have recently had an operation on your nose or you have injured your nose. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using MometaHEXAL ® Hay Fever Spray
• if you have or have ever had tuberculosis.
• if you have any other infection.
• if you are using other medicines containing corticosteroids, both oral and injectable.
• if you have cystic fibrosis (cystic fibrosis).
• if your immune system is not working well and you come into contact with people who have measles or chickenpox.
• if you have an infection of the nose or throat.
• if you use the medicine for several months or more.
• if you have persistent irritation of the nose or throat.
MometaHEXAL ® hay fever spray must not be used in children and adolescents under the age of 18.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines. In particular, taking anti-HIV medicines such as ritonavir or cibicistat or other medicines containing corticosteroids at the same time can be problematic and must be discussed with your doctor.
