BAKANASAN brain metabolism tablets contain the trace element copper, the water-soluble vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12 as well as high-quality choline, an important component of the well-known lecithin. Copper contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, including the brain as its control center, and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. The water-soluble B vitamins make an important contribution to the energy metabolism, including the brain, and, together with copper, contribute to the proper functioning of the entire nervous system.

What is brain metabolism?

Brain metabolism depends on a continuous circulatory supply of glucose and oxygen to neurons and astrocytes. In astrocytes, glucose is partly converted to lactate, which is then released in the extracellular space and taken up by neurons. In neurons, pyruvate arising from both glucose and lactate is used oxidatively.
