POSTERICARE Hemorrhoid Stick

 1 pcs

POSTERICARE® Hemorrhoid Stick: Helps directly where the pain is located.
• Direct relief: pushes external hemorrhoids back into the anal canal
• Reduces the risk of hemorrhoid progression and discomfort such as itching, oozing, and burning
• Easy to use: insert gently and carefully
• Optimal to wear: no slipping out thanks to the ergonomic shape

The POSTERICARE® hemorrhoid stick is used to reposition the hemorrhoidal cushions that protrude from the anal canal (also: prolapsed, falling out) into their original physiological position in the anal canal.

The stick holds the hemorrhoids in their natural position during use. This can relieve discomfort such as itching, burning, or oozing. The pressure of the stick on the hemorrhoids can help stop minor bleeding from the hemorrhoidal cushions. In the case of relocated external hemorrhoids, it also ensures better drainage of accumulated fluid, which promotes the regression of enlarged hemorrhoidal cushions and reduces the risk of progression of the disease.

The hemorrhoid stick is applied gently and carefully. If necessary, it can be combined with an ointment (e.g., Posterisan® protect ointment for the anal area). The stick remains in the anal canal for 10-20 minutes, but no longer than 60 minutes. It should be applied after each bowel movement and can be repeated several times a day. Thanks to its ergonomic shape, slipping out of or into the anal canal is prevented as best as possible.

Physically effective – for protruding, enlarged hemorrhoids

· Helps directly during application

· Developed together with proctologists

· No restrictions when wearing: sitting, lying down, movement possible

How does the hemorrhoid stick help with enlarged hemorrhoids?

Physical effect – pushing back the protruding hemorrhoids and holding them in the anal canal allows for better drainage of accumulated fluid. When the hemorrhoids are not external but in their original position, their regression is promoted and problems such as burning, itching, and pain are reduced.

How big is the POSTERICARE® hemorrhoid stick?

The hemorrhoid stick is just under 7 cm long, 4.5 cm of which is inserted into the anal canal. The stick has a diameter of 1.5 cm at its widest point. Its size is adapted to the typical anal canal size. The ergonomic shape was specially designed to prevent unwanted slipping and excessive insertion.

Hemorrhoidal diseases are not uncommon

Approximately two out of three people over the age of 30 suffer from hemorrhoidal problems at least once in their lifetime. The number of unreported cases is very high, which is why estimates of the severity of hemorrhoidal disease vary widely. Depending on the source, however, estimates suggest that up to half of those affected suffer from advanced hemorrhoidal disease, in which the hemorrhoids protrude from the anal canal either temporarily or permanently.

Everyone has hemorrhoids – they are important for the delicate closure of the anus. However, if their size continues to increase over time, they can cause unpleasant discomfort, which is why they should be treated as early as possible. Hemorrhoidal disease is only diagnosed when the vascular cushions enlarge and symptoms such as itching, bleeding, oozing, burning, and inflammation occur. Another typical symptom of advanced hemorrhoidal disease is a foreign body sensation in the anal canal, as if a bowel movement had not been completed (a feeling of pressure).

In general, the skin around the anus is very sensitive, which is why enlarged hemorrhoids can easily develop discomfort due to irritation, minor injuries or inflammation.

If you experience frequent or chronic pain in the anal region, you should consult your family doctor.

What causes hemorrhoid problems?

The causes of hemorrhoidal problems are varied and often have to do with our modern lifestyle:

· Unhealthy, low-fiber diet

Insufficient fluid intake (less than 2 liters per day)

· prolonged sitting

· too little exercise

Hard stools

· Straining during bowel movements

In most cases, several factors combine to contribute to hemorrhoids over time. A key factor in why certain behaviors are associated with hemorrhoid symptoms in some people, while others don't, is genetic, such as a predisposition to congenital or acquired connective tissue weakness. Pregnancy and strength training can also contribute to the development of hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoid problems can't be ignored
. Hemorrhoids are a taboo subject for many, but especially in the early stages, they can be effectively treated with minor lifestyle and behavioral changes, combined with over-the-counter hemorrhoid ointments or hemorrhoid suppositories.
If the underlying causes aren't addressed, they will progressively worsen over time. Medically, four stages are distinguished:

Grade 1 hemorrhoids:
Hemorrhoids cannot be seen or felt externally. There are hardly any symptoms, except for the occasional blood on the toilet paper.
Grade 2 hemorrhoids:
Hemorrhoids can usually be felt and palpated externally after a bowel movement. However, they regress spontaneously. Symptoms include oozing, burning, itching, and slight bleeding.
Grade 3 hemorrhoids:
Hemorrhoids do not regress spontaneously, but must be actively pushed into the anus. The symptoms are the same as for grade 2 hemorrhoids, but they worsen because the hemorrhoids have prolapsed outwards for a longer time. In addition, the protruding hemorrhoids can cause a foreign body sensation in the anal canal.
Grade 4 hemorrhoids:
Hemorrhoids are permanently located in front of the anus. Symptoms worsen, and incontinence and painful inflammation can occur.
At this stage, a reduction procedure by a specialist is usually necessary.

Those affected should therefore counteract the enlargement of hemorrhoids at an early stage by adjusting their diet and lifestyle habits.

Who is the POSTERICARE® Hemorrhoid Stick suitable for?
The POSTERICARE® Hemorrhoid Stick is suitable for people with stage 2 and 3 hemorrhoids. Pregnant and breastfeeding women can also use the POSTERICARE® Hemorrhoid Stick.

Who is the POSTERICARE® Hemorrhoid Stick not suitable for?
The POSTERICARE® Hemorrhoid Stick is not suitable for people with stage 1 and 4 hemorrhoids, as the hemorrhoids in stage 1 have not yet protruded from the anal canal. In stage 4, the hemorrhoidal cushions are so enlarged that they can no longer be pushed back into the anal canal, and surgery may be necessary.

How long can the POSTERICARE® Hemorrhoid Stick be used?
The POSTERICARE® Hemorrhoid Stick should be used for at least 10-20 minutes per application and up to 60 minutes at a time. The application can be repeated several times a day as needed.
