Alka-Seltzer effervescent tablets N10
- Alka seltzer tablets. The unique medicinal product Alka-Seltzer combats pain, fever and inflammation due to the high content of acetylsalicylic acid. The preparation in the form of convenient effervescent tablets will also help to alleviate the tiring symptoms of infection.
Composition:
1 tablet contains the active substance 324mg acetylsalicylic acid and auxiliary substances: anhydrous citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, povidone 25, a mixture of dimethicone and calcium silicate (70%: 30%), a mixture of sodium docusate and sodium benzoate (85%: 15%) , sodium saccharinate, lime flavor, lemon flavor.
Action:
The active substance in Alka-Seltzer is acetylsalicylic acid, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Its analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory action consists in blocking the activity of cyclooxygenase and thus inhibiting the synthesis of inflammatory mediators - prostaglandins and reducing the synthesis of prostacyclins. The product is effective in relieving low and medium intensity pains and in fighting fevers that accompany a cold. The addition of sodium citrate basically alleviates the excess of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, thanks to which it has a protective effect.
Application:
Alka-Seltzer recommended in relieving weak and medium pains of various etiologies and supporting the treatment of cold and flu symptoms.
Contraindications:
Do not use: in the case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug, in people with haemorrhagic diathesis, peptic ulcer of the stomach or duodenum, in case of severe renal, liver and heart failure, during pregnancy (especially in the last trimester) if there have been seizures in the past bronchial asthma, caused by administration of salicylates or substances with a similar effect, especially non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, simultaneously with methotrexate in doses of 15mg per week or more, in viral diseases (especially influenza and chickenpox) in children under 12 years.

Hypersensitivity is rare (in the form of, for example, dyspnoea or skin reactions). There have been isolated cases of liver dysfunction (increased transaminases) and kidneys, decreased blood glucose and particularly severe skin reactions. Dizziness and tinnitus, especially in children and the elderly, may be symptoms of overdose.
Additional information:
