Astragalus is a plant of the legume family, growing in temperate climates in the Northern Hemisphere. Its root contains saponins, flavonoids, polysaccharides and glycosides. It has an invigorating effect, supports the cardiovascular system, strengthens the immune system, promotes adrenal function and digestion. Supports metabolism and healing processes, provides vitality and energy.
Astragalus originates from China and Mongolia. According to traditional Chinese medicine, it is used to balance the vital energy of Qi. It contains triterpene saponins, amino acids (GABA, L-canavanine), flavonoids, polysaccharides, selenium.
Astragalus has antioxidant, diuretic, immunostimulating, tonic effect, lowers blood pressure and tones the heart muscle. The root of the plant is used for medicinal purposes.
