Athlete's foot treatment, SELERGO 1% cream, ciclopirox olamine. Effective help with athlete

's foot Athlete's foot is widespread and one of the most common skin diseases. In Germany, around 20% of the population is affected by this contagious fungal disease, which usually begins with reddened skin and severe itching between the toes. If athlete's foot is not treated, it can spread to other parts of the body. One of the most common consequences of untreated athlete's foot is an infection with nail fungus.
Active ingredients that can kill a wide variety of skin fungi have proven effective in combating the pathogens. Selergo 1% cream contains the fungicidal ingredient ciclopirox olamine, which not only attacks fungal cells from the outside but also from the inside. This not only prevents the fungi from growing, but also reliably kills them. Selergo 1% cream is well tolerated by the skin and is already suitable for treating fungus in school children from the age of 6 years.

Reliably combats fungi and their spores
Selergo 1% cream contains the antifungal active ingredient ciclopirox olamine, which has proven itself in the treatment of skin fungi. The antifungal agent is a broad spectrum antimycotic for the reliable killing of all common fungal pathogens (thread fungi, yeasts, moulds). Compared to other active ingredients, ciclopirox not only fights the living fungal cells, but also the spores that can cause the infection to break out again. Ciclopirox also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
Unpleasant symptoms such as redness and itching are relieved within a few days.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE Athlete's foot treatment, SELERGO 1% cream, ciclopirox olamine:

Apply Selergo 1% cream for athlete's foot twice a day to the affected areas of skin, rub in lightly and allow to air dry. It is recommended to use it after washing, showering or bathing so that the cream can work for a sufficiently long time. Treatment should continue until the skin symptoms have resolved (generally 2 weeks). In order to avoid relapses, it is recommended to continue the application for another 1 to 2 weeks.

AVOID INFECTION Fungi lurk everywhere and can be transmitted quickly from person to person via infected skin cells. It is particularly easy to contract athlete's foot in places where people go barefoot, such as in swimming pools, saunas, communal showers or hotel rooms.

EARLY TREATMENT

Athlete's foot rarely heals on its own. To prevent the infection from spreading to other areas of the skin, early treatment with a reliable antifungal agent is advisable. It is important that the antifungal agent is effective against all common fungal pathogens.

PAY ATTENTION TO HYGIENE To avoid infecting other family members, extreme hygiene is particularly important when it comes to athlete's foot: do not walk barefoot, do not share towels or nail care utensils and change towels and socks every day.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: What are typical signs of athlete's foot?

In most cases, athlete's foot infection begins in the spaces between the toes and manifests itself as visibly reddened skin and persistent itching. The skin begins to flake, swells, tends to weep and tear. These open spots can cause pain.
Although complications from athlete's foot infections are rare, it is important to treat the condition to prevent it from spreading to other parts of the body. In some cases, nail fungus, which takes a long time to treat, started as athlete's foot. In addition, athlete's foot is very contagious and quickly infects people in the personal environment such as family, friends or members of a sports club.

How do I avoid infecting my family with athlete's foot?
Make absolutely sure that you do not walk barefoot in the apartment and spread infected skin cells. Fungal spores can survive weeks or even months in carpets, bathroom rugs and other textiles.
If you have athlete's foot, it is advisable to put on your socks first thing in the morning so that you do not touch any other items of clothing with your feet and contaminate them with pathogens.
Towels and care utensils such. B. nail scissors or files should not be shared with other people in the household. Change towels and clothing that have come into contact with the diseased areas every day and wash them at at least 60 °C, preferably at 90 °C.

What can I do to avoid getting infected with athlete's foot again after successful treatment?
In order to avoid a flare-up of infection, the twice-daily application should be continued for one to two weeks.
Always give your feet, including the nails, intensive care – for minor injuries, e.g. B. by shoes that are too tight, fungal pathogens can penetrate quickly. After bathing or showering, please always make sure to dry your feet well, including between your toes.
All shoes that could have been infected by the previous athlete's foot should also be thoroughly disinfected. The warm, humid environment in shoes offers optimal living conditions for fungi, and spores can survive for a long time even in rarely worn ski boots or ice skates. Myfungar shoe spray, which was specially developed for shoe disinfection, is suitable for disinfection.
