Carbo medicinalis 300mg is a drug that contains medicinal charcoal (300mg per tablet). The indications for the use of the preparation are: diarrhea, flatulence and indigestion, as well as poisoning with drugs or other chemical substances.

Composition of Carbo medicinalis 300mg:

Active substance: activated carbon. One tablet contains 300 mg of activated carbon and auxiliary substances: sucrose, microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin, sodium carboxymethyl starch, glycerol, magnesium stearate.

Medicinal charcoal is an active substance that is an effective remedy for diarrhea, flatulence and indigestion. In addition, in consultation with the doctor, it is used in the event of poisoning with drugs or other chemical compounds. The medicinal product Carbo medicinalis 300mg contains as much as 300mg of activated carbon in each tablet - this is the highest dose on the market, so you can take fewer tablets at a time (compared to tablets with a lower active substance content). Activated charcoal can be used in adults and children - also in children under 1 year of age.

Application:

The medicinal product Carbo medicinalis 300mg indicated for use in the case of diarrhea, flatulence, indigestion, and in consultation with the doctor in the case of poisoning with drugs and other chemicals.

Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against the effects of moisture and light. The drug contains sucrose (253.5 mg in one tablet) - people with diagnosed intolerance to certain sugars should discuss the possibility of using the drug with their doctor; caution should be exercised in people with diabetes. The possibility of using the drug in women during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be consulted with a doctor. Taking too many tablets may cause constipation. People taking drugs by mouth should wait at least 2 hours between taking the drugs and taking a dose of activated charcoal.

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use when the patient is unconscious and his respiratory tract is not properly secured.

Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. Carbo medicinalis 300mg tablets dosage:

Use the drug as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the leaflet. Use orally, do not take with or immediately after a meal (food reduces the adsorption capacity of activated carbon). Diarrhea - adults, children over 12 years of age: use about 4 g (10-13 tablets) at a time, it is recommended to crush the appropriate number of tablets and add a small amount of water, take in the form of a paste. If necessary, repeat the dose every few hours. Indigestion, flatulence - adults, children over 12 years of age: usually 3-4 tablets several times a day, take until symptoms disappear. The tablets can be swallowed whole, but it is advisable to chew them (this allows for faster action).

Poisoning with drugs and chemicals - adults, children over 1 year of age: take 12.5 g (41-42 tablets) at a time. If necessary, repeat the dose several times a day; children under 1 year of age: the dose depends on the body weight, once 1 g / 1 kg body weight. If necessary, repeat the dose every 4-6 hours. Elderly people, people with renal and hepatic insufficiency: no dosage adjustment is necessary. A doctor should be consulted if, despite the use of the drug, diarrhea persists for more than 2 days, there is blood in the stools, fever or flatulence persist for more than 7 days.
