Cathejell® with lidocaine is a sterile, water-soluble, clear lubricating gel

Cathejell® with lidocaine gently unfolds the urethra through the instillation before a catheter or other instrument is inserted and forms a lubricating film between the urethral mucosa and the instrument. The lubricant moves through the urethra in front of the instrument, making it easier for instruments to slide painlessly.

The additional anesthetic effect of lidocaine promotes a pain-free procedure, as the patient relaxes the pelvic floor muscles and this enables an easier transition of the instrument from the urethra through the external sphincter.

The disinfecting effect of chlorhexidine avoids ascending infections of the urethra by spreading germs.

Instructions for use: Slowly inserting (instilling) into the urethra before inserting the instruments.

CATHEJELL lidocaine hydrochloride gel Use:

1. Cleaning and disinfecting the outer urethane mouth.

2. Remove the paper from the transparent sleeve.

3. Snap off the syringe (still in the transparent cover). Completely remove the tip to prevent accidental insertion into the urethra.

4. Squeeze out a drop of Cathejell® to make it easier to insert the application cone.

5. Slow instillation by lightly pressing the accordion syringe. Keep it pressed after emptying and remove it from the urethral orifice.

6. After the instillation wait 5-10 minutes until the instrument can be inserted painlessly. To make it easier to insert the instrument, a drop of gel can also be applied to the instrument.

The syringes are intended for single use, gel residues are discarded.
