Avoid vitamin D deficiency with Dekristol ® 500 IU tablets
Vitamin D has an influence on numerous processes in the body: The vitamin with a key function has a regulating effect on the immune system, ensures strong bones and healthy teeth, supports muscle work and is involved in cell division. Vitamin D significantly improves the absorption of calcium, which is required for many bodily functions.

However, the majority of Germans do not have an adequate supply of vitamin D, and the deficiency extends across all age groups. Dekristol ®500 IU tablets effectively prevent bone pain and deformities, even in the little ones. In children and infants, one speaks of rickets, a softening and deformation of the bones. In adults, this condition is known as osteomalacia. In adults, Dekristol ® also supports the treatment of osteoporosis (bone loss).

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE To prevent bone pain and deformities and to support the treatment of osteoporosis, Dekristol ®
500 IU tablets should be taken once or twice a day with meals, depending on the patient's age. For easier use in infants and young children, the tablets are simply allowed to crumble in a little milk or water. These symptoms indicate a vitamin D deficiency In addition to bone pain and deformity, the possible effects of a vitamin D deficiency include muscle pain. In addition, an increased susceptibility to infections is discussed. Dekristol

500 IU tablets can help prevent deficiency and meet the daily vitamin D requirement. The intake of vitamin D through food is usually quite low, and in our latitudes there is often not enough contact with the sun's rays.

Rickets in infants and children
The most common cause of rickets, a disorder of growing bones, is a lack of vitamin D. Skeletal symptoms can include a curvature of the spine and an abnormal shape of the skull. Muscle weakness, muscle cramps and tooth enamel defects are also possible. Dekristol ® 500 IU tablets prevent rickets with just one tablet a day, even in premature babies. Premature babies with a birth weight of less than 1500 g are given two tablets of Dekristol® 500 IU daily.

Osteomalacia in adults
Osteomalacia, a disorder of bone metabolism, can be caused by vitamin D deficiency. The main symptom is general, ongoing bone pain, which is often misinterpreted as rheumatic complaints. Typically, osteomalacia occurs in the areas of the thorax, spine, symphysis symphysis, and thigh.

osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a generalized disease of the bones characterized by a decrease in bone density. Bone loss makes it more prone to breakage. The so-called primary osteoporosis usually occurs without recognizable cause in old age, especially in women after the menopause. Vitamin D and calcium are part of the basic therapy in treatment.
