  • Dermocort skin spray is a medicinal product with hydrocortisone. It is a drug for short-term, topical use in inflammatory skin conditions of various origins, e.g. in the case of atopic dermatitis and allergic contact eczema.

Composition of Dermocort skin spray, for atopic dermatitis, allergic contact eczema:

Active substance: hydrocortisone (Hydrocortisone). 1g of suspension contains 1.372mg of hydrocortisone and auxiliary substances: sorbitan trioleate, lecithin (of animal origin), isopropyl myristate, Drivosol 35A (propane [min. 23%], n-butane [max. 5.0%], isobutane [min. 71 .5%]).

The active substance of the drug, i.e. hydrocortisone, has anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effects, as well as constricts blood vessels. Hydrocortisone belongs to the group of corticosteroids. The medicinal product Dermocort aerosol for the skin is a drug for topical use in inflammations of various origins, especially in moderate allergic inflammations that respond to glucocorticosteroids.

Application:
The medicinal product Dermocort skin spray indicated for use in the case of atopic dermatitis, allergic contact eczema, reactions occurring after insect bites or stings (itching and irritation).

Additional information:
Keep the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Do not refrigerate. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine in the following cases: diabetes; glaucoma or cataracts (the drug may exacerbate the symptoms of the disease, it is recommended to avoid applying the drug to the eyelids or to the skin around the eyelids due to the risk of glaucoma or cataracts). The drug is intended for use on the skin only. Do not use the medicine on healthy skin. Do not inhale the sprayed substance. If you experience blurred vision or other visual disturbances, contact your doctor. If skin irritation occurs, stop using the drug and consult a doctor. Do not use the drug in large doses, on a large area of ​​​​the skin, on wounds, damaged skin and long-term - corticosteroids are absorbed into the blood and can cause side effects. If you develop a skin infection at the application site, contact your doctor. The drug is suitable for use on the skin of the armpits and groin, but only in cases of absolute necessity, the drug is absorbed faster in these places, which increases the risk of side effects and their intensification (even with short-term use). Do not cover the application site with a dressing (especially with foil or oilcloth), it increases the absorption of the drug into the body, moreover, epidermis atrophy, stretch marks and superinfections may occur. Caution should be exercised in subcutaneous tissue atrophy, especially in the elderly. Extremely flammable aerosol. Do not spray over an open flame or other ignition source. Protect your eyes from the sprayed substance. Avoid contact of the drug with the eyes and mucous membranes. If the medicine gets into your eyes, rinse them thoroughly with lukewarm water. Do not inhale the sprayed substance. Use in children and adolescents: due to the risk of impaired growth and development in children, this medicine should not be used in them. Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding: before using the drug, consult a doctor, and during pregnancy, the drug can be used only in case of absolute necessity, when the benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus, the drug should be used for a short time and on small areas of the skin , and in the first trimester, special care should be taken; during breastfeeding, the drug should be used with caution, for a short time and on a small area of ​​​​the skin (it is not known whether the drug passes into breast milk). Driving and using machines: the drug may cause visual disturbances, thus it may impair psychophysical fitness, the ability to drive and use machines.

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use in children under 12 years of age. Do not use in case of bacterial, viral or fungal infection. Do not use in the case of systemic mycosis. Do not use in the case of acne vulgaris or rosacea, skin atrophy, skin cancer, precancerous skin condition. Do not use in the case of dermatitis around the mouth and tuberculous skin changes, on open wounds and damaged skin. Do not use after protective vaccinations.

Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking this medicine. Uncommon: blurred vision. Not known: atrophic dermatitis, stretch marks on the skin; recurrence of infection; steroid purpura (skin discoloration and discoloration); superficial vasodilation; acne; dermatitis around the mouth; dermatitis around the eyes; folliculitis, excessive hair growth; delayed healing of wounds and ulcers; bacterial, fungal and viral superinfections; petechiae (small red or purple spots on the skin); skin irritation (burning, redness, excessive dryness, contact allergy); glaucoma or cataracts; suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis; Cushing's syndrome; inhibition of growth and development in children; hyperglycemia, glucosuria; swelling, hypertension; decrease in immunity; stretch marks. If side effects occur, stop using the drug and consult your doctor.

Use as directed by your doctor or as indicated on the leaflet. The drug is intended for topical use. Shake the container vigorously several times before use. The container contains 31 3-second doses of the drug. The content of hydrocortisone in one 3-second dose is about 1.7mg. Recommended dose for adults and adolescents from 12 years of age: the affected areas of the skin should be sprayed with a stream of suspension for 1 to 3 seconds, holding the container vertically, spray head up, at a distance of 15-20 cm. The drug is usually recommended to be applied twice a day at regular intervals. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after each application. Duration of treatment: use for a short time, if after 7 days the symptoms worsen or the condition does not improve, discontinue the drug and consult a doctor.
