The classic symptoms of allergic rhinitis include a runny and itchy nose, constant sneezing, watery, red and itchy eyes, sometimes shortness of breath and even asthma. Many of those affected feel weak and tired because the symptoms are very difficult for them. A distinction is made between seasonal hay fever, which depends on the pollen count and is usually associated with very severe symptoms, and allergies that occur all year round, such as against house dust mites or animal hair.

In hives, so-called wheals form on the skin. These are fluid-filled bumps on the skin that can be very itchy and burning. These swellings usually disappear within 24 hours, but they can reappear in other places at the same time. Angioedema can also occur. These are deep swellings in the lower layers of skin, usually on the limbs. But they can also occur in the throat, which can lead to shortness of breath and must be treated by a doctor. The most common is acute, spontaneous hives, which usually heal within six weeks. There is also chronic hives, which usually occurs in adulthood, especially in women.
Desloratadine Aristo ® : the modern antihistamine
The modern antihistamine Desloratadine Aristo ® is used to treat allergic rhinitis and hives . Antihistamines inhibit the effect of histamine, an endogenous messenger substance that is released as an immune response to ward off foreign substances. This messenger substance is increasingly formed during allergic reactions and triggers the typical symptoms, such as e.g. B. Itching off. Desloratadine Aristo ® docks specifically and quickly to histamine receptors, blocking them, and thus reliably alleviating the annoying symptoms of allergic rhinitis and/or hives. Due to the 24-hour effect, the symptoms are effectively under control even with a once-daily dosing.
