Dezaftan MED x 20 lozenges, cetylpyridinium chloride, lidocaine hydrochloride
The medicinal product in the form of Dezaftan Med lozenges contains cetylpyridinium chloride, lidocaine hydrochloride and zinc gluconate. The drug is indicated for use in the case of inflammation, infections and ulcers in the mouth.
Composition of Dezaftan Med, cetylpyridinium chloride, lidocaine hydrochloride:
Active substances: cetylpyridinium chloride (Cetylpyridinii chloridum), lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate (Lidocaini hydrochloridum monohydricum), zinc gluconate (Zinci gluconas). One lozenge contains: 1.5 mg of cetylpyridinium chloride, 1.0 mg of lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate and 17.42 mg of zinc gluconate (equivalent to 2.5 mg of zinc ions) and excipients: menthol, microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, povidone, aspartame, citric acid , croscarmellose sodium, talc, magnesium stearate, glycerol.
Action of Dezaftan Med, cetylpyridinium chloride, lidocaine hydrochloride:
Dezaftan Med is a three-component medicine in the form of lozenges with disinfecting (antiseptic) and local anesthetic properties. The active substances are: cetylpyridinium chloride, lidocaine hydrochloride and zinc gluconate. Cetylpyridinium chloride has a disinfecting, bactericidal and antifungal effect. Lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate is a local anesthetic and therefore relieves pain. Zinc gluconate supports the immune system.
Application:
The medicinal product Dezaftan Med is indicated for use in the treatment of inflammation of the mouth, gingivitis, infections and ulcers of the oral mucosa (thrush, aphthae) - including those caused by wearing a dental prosthesis or orthodontic appliances. For use in adults and children over 6 years of age.
Additional information:
Store the product out of reach of children, at room temperature. It is recommended to protect against moisture and light. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult your doctor, but it is not recommended to use the drug in pregnant women and in women of childbearing age who do not use effective contraception. Should not be used in mothers who are breastfeeding. Lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate may impair swallowing and increase the risk of aspiration. Due to the risk of aspiration, do not use the drug with a meal and immediately before eating. Caution should be exercised when drinking hot drinks and eating hot food as the drug reduces heat sensitivity, so there is an increased risk of burns to the mucosa of the mouth and throat. In use, dairy products should not be eaten, they reduce the absorption of zinc. The drug contains aspartame (4.8 mg in each tablet) - aspartame is a source of phenylalanine, it may be harmful for patients with phenylketonuria. The drug contains mannitol - a slight laxative effect may occur. This medicine contains sodium (2.712 mg per tablet), the medicine contains less than 1mmol (23 mg) of sodium per tablet, therefore it is essentially 'sodium-free'.
Contraindications:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Do not use if you are allergic to other local anesthetics from the amide group. Do not use in children under 6 years of age. Do not use in the case of severe liver or kidney failure. Do not use in people who suffer from methaemoglobinaemia.
Side effects:
Some people may experience side effects while taking the drug. Uncommon: local skin reactions - erythema (local redness of the skin), itching, eczema, burning sensation. Rare: severe skin reactions - blistering or pimple eczema (may spread or be generalized), hives (pale pink, itchy blisters on the skin); hypersensitivity to sunlight; Headache; gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea); vomiting, a metallic taste in the mouth; inflammation of the oral mucosa. Very rare: worsening of pre-existing renal failure. Not known: convulsions.
Dosage of Dezaftan Med, cetylpyridinium chloride, lidocaine hydrochloride lozenges:
Use the drug as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the leaflet. The recommended dose for adults: suck one tablet every 1-2 hours, but do not exceed the maximum daily dose: 8 tablets. The recommended dose for children over 6 years of age: suck one tablet every 2-3 hours, but do not exceed the maximum daily dose: 6 tablets. Suck the tablet slowly, do not swallow or chew. It is recommended to use one hour before or one hour after a meal. Do not use for more than 5 consecutive days without consulting your doctor. If symptoms persist or worsen after 5 days, contact your doctor.
