osteoarthritis, osteoarthritis in knee and what can be done about it

If the knee initially feels stiff after taking a break and it hurts when moving, or later at rest, this may be due to osteoarthritis. Knee osteoarthritis is often seen as normal, age-related wear and tear.

Nevertheless, excessive and improper stress and, above all, being overweight are often the trigger for knee joint wear. Around 75 percent of all over 50s show signs of osteoarthritis in the knee. This refers to changes in the joint that cause the bone surface to become harder and rougher after the loss of cartilage due to excessive or incorrect loading. This irritates tendons and ligaments, causing pain. Arthrosis develops differently - but in any case it can significantly limit mobility and quality of life.

Unfortunately, osteoarthritis cannot be cured. But at an early stage, DONA ® can effectively counteract any further deterioration: The mobility of the knee joints can be maintained and pain can be alleviated with the regular intake of DONA ® .

Effective cartilage protection, DONA, osteoarthritis in knee

The active ingredient crystalline glucosamine hemisulfate belongs to the group of NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory anti-inflammatory drugs) and anti-inflammatory drugs (anti-inflammatory drugs) and is particularly stable in its formulation. The enrichment of the naturally occurring glucosamine in the body can reduce further loss of cartilage and promote the regeneration of cartilage tissue. Since the active ingredient is rarely absorbed through food, glucosamine hemisulphate is a useful addition to the daily diet. The effectiveness and tolerability have also been confirmed in long-term studies. Glucosamine hemisulfate is available in tablet form, but also as a powder for making a solution.

osteoarthritis in knee APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION:
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, adults take 1500 mg DONA ® daily . One sachet of DONA ® 1500 mg powder is dissolved in a glass of liquid and drunk with a meal. DONA ® tablets, divided into several single doses a day, can be taken with a glass of liquid at mealtimes . However, if the symptoms worsen, or if there is no improvement after 2 - 3 months, a doctor should be consulted.

JUST NOT BURDEN?

The earlier recommendations to protect the knee joints in pain are long outdated: Well-developed muscles stabilize and protect the joints. In addition, regular exercise ensures that the articular cartilage is supplied with nutrients. Therefore, on the one hand, special exercises that the physiotherapist can suggest are crucial for the positive development of knee problems. On the other hand, knee-friendly endurance sports (such as Nordic walking or cycling) - but also mindful movement patterns (e.g. Tai Chi, Chi Gong) can have a positive effect on the joints. Also preventively. As a support, DONA ® can supply the damaged cartilage with glucosamine hemisulphate and thus delay the course of knee osteoarthritis and permanently alleviate the symptoms caused by osteoarthritis.

WHAT ELSE YOU CAN DO

If you want to do your knees good, you should watch your weight. One of the main risk factors for osteoarthritis is being overweight. A look at the scales shows whether the weight needs to be optimized. Exercise - and especially diet - can give the body positive impulses. A wholesome, low-fat and low-calorie diet that is rich in vitamins and fiber helps to keep the kilos within limits. Since natural glucosamine suppliers (foods with a high percentage of cartilage or connective tissue) are very rarely on the menu today, the long-term intake of DONA ® as a tablet or in the form of a powder to create a solution can significantly improve glucosamine absorption and thus also knee problems.

Athletes also have "knees"

Younger and sporty people are also affected by knee pain. The reason here is more likely to be found in the wrong footwear, a misalignment (e.g. knock knees) or excessive training zeal. This can lead to osteoarthritis, tendon irritation and pain. If the pain occurs behind the kneecap when walking downstairs, the tendons that attach to the kneecap are usually overloaded. The so-called runner's knee is often responsible for pain on the outside of the knee (overuse of an external tendon plate). There are similar reasons for pain on the inside of the knee. Pain in the hollow of the knee is rather rare. This is usually due to a meniscus injury. If knee pain persists, a specialist should be consulted to confirm the diagnosis. He can best decide what specifically helps against the symptoms.

DONA, osteoarthritis in knee Frequently asked questions and answers

How long can the DONA ® osteoarthritis in knee medicinal product be kept ?
For all dosage forms, the expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. After that, the drug should no longer be taken.

When can the pain-relieving effect of DONA ® be felt?
Although DONA ® works much earlier, the pain-relieving effect can only be felt after 4 to 6 weeks after taking DONA ® . Therefore, DONA ® should be used as a long-term therapy and, if necessary, supplemented with anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for acute pain until the pain-relieving effect of DONA ® occurs.

Is DONA® also suitable for use by children and adolescents?
Due to the lack of data on safety and efficacy, DONA ® preparations should not be taken in powder or tablet form by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Is it safe to take DONA ® osteoarthritis in knee during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Dona ® preparations should not be taken during pregnancy. Taking glucosamine hemisulphate while breastfeeding is also not recommended.
